"Hi chat! How are you today"
I sat back further into the chair, a cheesy grin on my face as I try to keep up with the chat, their messages seemingly move at the speed of light, each second bringing along a new jumble of letters and phrases
"Today's gonna be a chill day, I'll probably just continue to work on my house and watch some media shares unless someone decides to join"
Within a few seconds the block game finishes rendering and my house comes into view, the first media share video following shortly after
"Motivational lizard- are you guys serious"
The video continues to play on the corner of my screen as I try to focus on the task at hand - I was currently in a war with George to see who could make the best cottage on the dream smp server, although it was more than just clear that I would be winning
"Let's go steal some quartz from punz"
Time seemed to slip away far quicker than I could manage, an hour turned into two, and before I knew it, the light from my window had faded and we were well into my 'delirious and sleep deprived arc' as my fans liked to call it. The smp was now bustling with little block men and women, the sight bringing a smile to my face
I had been streaming with the dream team for the last few months, and within this time I had grown a decent following. I mostly streamed with feral gang, specifically quackity, who my chat and the whole smp fandom shipped me with
It started off as a joke.
we hated each other, as friends do.
He annoyed the living hell out of me, but I couldn't help but feel something tug at my heart strings when he said my name and with each little rude remark or pixilated flower that he would throw at me I could feel myself helplessly fall for him
I was in deep.
I'm in love with the guy who seemingly hates my guts.
What a cliche.
videos and aimless conversations continued between me and the chat as I tried to blink back sleep, the weights on my eyes practically begged me to give in and just rest but I was stubborn and far too invested in ranting about pointless topics to care about sleep
"If I get one more motivational lizard video I might just die chat-"
I pause as a new sound began to play from the bottom of my screen, the interesting and oddly familiar voice catching my attention
"Sir? Sir? Sir?"
An old clip of quackity continued to play and I watched, a smile subconsciously creeping onto my face as the boys voice cracked
As the media share finally ran out I pull my eyes up to my monitor, the pixelated world blinking back at me
"He looks cute in that clip"
A gasp falls from my tongue as my hand shamefully slaps against my lips - a mixture of shock and embarrassment seeps through my veins and suddenly I can't help but feel vulnerable, my eyes wide at the realization
127k people just watched me simp for my enemy.
"Chat I was joking- that- that was a joke guys"
Hundreds of messages follow my slip up, each and every one reflecting on my past actions and giving me the grand title of being a simp
My cheeks burned, the fire spreading to the pit of my stomach as butterflies began to form
"I'm not a simp! It was a joke guys!"
My damage control definitely wasn't working, I knew by now all of stan Twitter was either attacking me or praising the fact that their "ship had sailed"
Neither of which I was very fond of.
I begin to ramble again, apologies and excuses falling for my lips as I try to avoid any confrontation from the thousands of viewers, but it was no use, this situation couldn't get any worse
My head fell into my hands as I groan, I sit like this for a moment until my heart drops, the sound of someone else joining my discord could be heard through my headphones
"Y/n?"
fuck.
"y/n? Hello?"
"Hey...Alex"
I could almost hear the smile in his voice
"A little birdie told me that you're a... hmm what's the word I'm looking for chat?"
My heart was beating through my chest, I feared that everyone could hear it
"ahhh! That's the word! A simp, you're simping for me!"
He let out an amused giggle but I couldn't see what was funny in this moment. Perhaps it was my lack of sleep or the fact that i was being publicly humiliated by the one person whose opinion actually mattered to me, but this didn't seem like a laughing matter
"Shut up Alex, it was an accident, a joke! get over it."
My mouse hovered over the "end stream" button, I wanted nothing more than to just disappear, to climb into a hole and never been seen ever again
"How am I supposed to get over that? You just simped for me in front of thousands of people"
My face burned
"And so what If I did! God! you're so annoying!"
He laughed once again, but this time there was no stupid remark, he stayed silent for a moment, the lack of sound nearly killing me
I attempted to read chat as he stalled, but it was no use, they weren't slowing down anytime soon
"Y/n?"
I could feel myself jump slightly as his mic picked up the sound of his voice again
"Alex?"
He was silent again, a few seconds pass before he lets out a sigh
"You're cute when you're embarrassed"
My brows furrow as I try to comprehend his words, meanwhile chat was going absolutely crazy, the whole stream was basically becoming a war zone
"Al-"
"Well actually you're cute all the time, speaking of which, I like you"
The sound of him leaving the discord call could be heard softly after his confession, the whole interaction leaving me with wide eyes and pink cheeks
I try to mutter some type of response but it's almost like I had forgotten to speak, butterflies continue to swarm in my stomach as I look at my forgotten game of minecraft, the image of a nearby tree bringing a sheepish smile to my face
"I... chat- did- he- he's a simp!"
