I've been on Wattpad since the 5th of January, 2013, so it's been a hot minute since I've joined. I've therefore had a lot of different cover designs. I found a flashdrive with some old ones, so I decided to show them here cuz some are funny LMAO plus it'll be interesting to see how the designs have changed over the years!!
CIRCA 2014
This first one isn't for one of my stories, I actually made it for carly, which took me a shamefully long time to figure out because of the username on the cover (Carly idk if you'll read this but I still associate you as holysmoak I'M SORRY). I literally just found pngs and slapped them on the cover along with text. Very minimal effort, 2/10.
I'm pretty sure these were the first-ever covers for Caged back in 2014. Peep the old username!! I think I ended up actually using the second one because I liked the color version better than the black and white one. It's very 2014-esque and really shows how old that book is!!
CIRCA 2015
Idk why the first one is so freaking small, but these were made for a Barry Allen fanfic that was never published (also hello old username of mine). The faceclaim is Danielle Campbell and I think I got like 2 chapters written before I gave up and deleted it🥴
These ones actually aren't bad; I did like this cover theme but it was hard to find photos for it. It's not too different from my current ones in terms of person & text placement, but filters on covers weren't really common yet so they're kinda plain.
This one is another I made for Carly, which was for her Roy Harper (Arrow) fic! Idk why I called it a "banner" at the top because that is clearly a cover lmao. Love that blur to make the photo fit the cover. Also I think it's kinda funny that I chose that picture of Colton & Crystal since Roy wasn't even in school so he wouldn't have been sitting by lockers.
I SPELLED MY OWN USERNAME WRONG ???!?!?!?!? Anyways here's a cover for my original story, which you can familiarize yourself with in my drafts tag in this book if you want. I was going for some ~aesthetic~ vibes but I hate the two fonts in combination with each other. I remember making a new version where my username was spelled correctly and I changed up the fonts, but of course that's the one that was lost to time :/
This is another one I made for the story. I like the idea but again, these fonts are killing me. Absolutely KILLING ME. The first one especially is just so ugly for a cover wtf was I thinking?? Also I apparently loved using Grant Gustin as a faceclaim because this would have been my second book with him in it (the first being Caged).
This is the cover for my old Stiles/Stydia fic that I also mentioned in my drafts tag. This has a similar design to the Battle Scars one, but with a much better font choice. It's HELLA bright and vibrant, which truly captures the 2015 era. Turquoise was ~the thing~
What the fawk😃 I have no recollection of making these OR the story that they were supposed to be for. To be fair, I knew these were bad and never used them. I think I was trying to make a manipulated cover but failed miserably.
This reminded me that I had a Pietro Maximoff fic back in the day (which never got published btw). Kat McNamara played the OC and she was Clint's adopted daughter who was also an archer. I remember nothing else.
This is making me realize that my current cover scheme is just my old covers but with a filter and I will now be passing away😌
I DON'T REMEMBER THIS ??? I think it may have been what eventually became Aegis, but yeah, I literally have no recollection of ever writing ANYTHING for this story. I think I made a cover for it and then let it die.

What??? 🧐 Um anyways —
The PNGs have the potential to look good on a cover but this was a poor execution. The idea was there but the skills weren't, which pretty much describes me as a person.
My holy grail of covers!! I had so many people copy these but they wouldn't copy them right and it pissed me off. Like if you're gonna copy me, at least do it correctly??? Smh
These designs were my cover style for a LOONG time, as you can see. Havoc wasn't published for the first time until July 2017 and yet I was still using this design. It was always so hard to get the circles the same size because I didn't use a template at all, which is a reason why I changed them.

My covers didn't look like this for too long because I didn't like all the empty white space. Also, the filter was so strong that it kinda whitewashed my POC faceclaims which I didn't like (look at Shay, Bob, and Lindsey, yikes). I do really like the blue in the Havoc cover though!!
I made my current cover scheme in January 2018 and I've stuck with it since. It's easy, looks decent, and I like it, so I've felt no need to change it. I'm one of those people who likes my covers to match, or else I would absolutely use all of the wonderful covers that my readers have been kind enough to make for me over the years. My wonderful mutual Lotte actually made covers for ALL OF MY PUBLISHED WORKS AT THE TIME (for practice btw, I didn't request), but then I published a new book right as I saw them and I didn't want to bother her with asking for another. But they are shown in the intro chapters/graphic galleries for each story she made one for!!
And now, here are some miscellaneous covers I've made but idk what to do with.
I really like how these turned out, especially the Havoc one because it reminds me of a disco and I wanna just 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 but I wouldn't have been able to find enough pictures for all of my faceclaims to make every cover, especially the ones that have underused faceclaims like Aimee Carrero and Benjamin Wadsworth. Plus, admittedly, I'm way too attached to the current Fireheart cover to change it, especially since that thing took me like 3 hours to make.
What is this. What. What is this. I don't even remember when I made it but it didn't even turn out how the vision in my head looked. Also Tom is the only one not looking at the camera and I forgot to erase his fist so it's just hanging over the bottom of the text like ✊🏻 LMAOO. This was my first attempt at a cover like this though.
Ok now what the fawk is THIIISSS. I hate that font🤢 I love that pic of Benjamin though, so I attempted something, hated it, and pretended it never happened😌✨
I should've made this title Aftermath instead of Havoc since the photos are from the second Spider-Man movie, but alas... anyway, I'm pretty proud of this, even if it's not perfect. I couldn't crop it with Peter in it so sorry that he's not there. I loved adding the signatures from the characters along with the doodles!!
Here are some of the old cover designs for my current stories. Most of these were changed because I didn't like the way they looked (the black background in the Finality cover also stuck out a lot). I like the Fireheart one, but again, I changed the cover because I spent so long making the current one.
So yeah, I hope you enjoyed this fun trip back in time with me! I wish I could find more (maybe if WayBackMachine worked with Wattpad, I could have) but this will have to do.
