Next day
Y/n'POV
Today is the day of the fashion show.
And we had tae, appa , dad and some other officials of our company as audience
And two famous people in fashion industry as the judges.
Right now, I am in the makeup room of my models.....and I am panicking.
Why?
Because for the last one hour I have been searching for the the dresses I have designed, but I can't find them anywhere.
Co-worker- " Y/n, the show will start in an hour, where are your dresses?"
Y/n - " I-I cant find them."
I said putting my fingers on my forehead.
Co-worker- " What do you mean, you can't find, the show is gonna start."
Y/n - " I know...but.."
Co-worker- " Have you searched properly."
Y/n - " I have, I have searched every place so many times."
I was almost at the verge of tears.
She sighed and said
Co- worker - " Do you have extra designed dresses?"
I looked at her and sighed
Y/n - " I do, but they are not good enough."
Co - worker- " we don't have time for that, make your models wear those dresses and get ready."
She said and walked out.
My mind was a mess, I didn't knew what to do, so I followed her advice.
I know these dresses are not worth this competition but I have no other choice.
Time skip
The show started and my heart was beating so freaking fast.
My designs are the second to go on the stage after Jisoo.
Jisoo's designs were very good,
on the other hand my present designs would be looking as thorns among the flowers.
I really want the earth to open and swallow me in right now.
I have never felt so helpless ever
Now it's my turn, my models slowly walked on the ramp.
And I can see everyone's face twisting from the backstage.
There faces clearly showed their displeasure,and my heart pierced.
I was expecting this reaction but still watching it in reality shattered my heart
Next is Jennie's turn, her models walked on the stage and everyone's eyes lit up.
While my jaw dropped and eyes widened.
Y/n's POV - " T-those are my designs and my dresses...
how come it's with Jenn-....did she stole them?"
I was frozen at my place, I can't think anything anymore.
I heard the MC calling the designers on stage.
I walked to the stage with my frozen face and eyes looking down, I can't make eye contact with anyone at this moment.
Then I suddenly heard everyone clapping and I snapped back.
I raised my head to see what happen.
And saw that Jennie was shaking hands with the judges.
She won
My designs won but nobody knows that they are mine.
I don't know what to feel anymore.
I looked towards appa and dad and the look on their face pierced my heart.
They were dissapointed.
I looked at tae and he had a blank face.
Time skip
Jennie won the competition and was announced the HOD.
But this is not fair, those were my designs.
I went to her model's room to confront her.
I went inside the room and she looked at me with a smirk.
She is disgusting me right now
Jennie - " Look, the talentless looser is here."
She said with her arms crossed
Y/n - " Why did you do that?"
Jennie - " what did I do?"
She said making an innocent face.
Y/n - " THOSE WERE MY DESIGNS JENNIE."
I shouted at her.
Jennie - " What nonsense,.... now you lost so you are playing tricks."
Y/n - " You very well know Jennie, who is playing the tricks...........were u so scared of me that you had to stoop so low."
She rolled her eyes and said
Jennie - " Just get out, you can't come and talk like this to your HOD."
Y/n's mind - " There is no use talking to her."
I walked out of her room feeling defeated
and
I met Taehyung on the way.
I looked at him and he was looking at me, with an unreadable expression.
That eye contact with him, made my controlled tears flow and I started crying.
He briskly walked towards me and embraced me caressing my back.
His embrace was really something I needed at that moment
It gave me warmth and a sense of protection.
I snuggled into his chest clutching his shirt and started crying even more.
Y/n - " Tae those were*sob* were my designs..I *sob* worked so hard * sob* on the them....it was my* sob* first work...
I don't know how she.* sob* no one will *sob* believe me..every one will call me* sob* nepotic product now.*sob* dad and appa are so dissapointed*sob* with me."
He broke the hug and cupped my face.
Tae - " No don't say that,...no one is dissapointed in you
Y/n, I believe you , you have shown your work to me before, I know that they were your designs , no one will call you bad things......trust me."
He again engulfed me.
His words made me relax thinking at least someone believes me.
Tae - " You go home now and relax ok?, I'll tell the driver to pick you up
You don't have to worry about anything."
I nodded my head and he escorted me out till the car.
I was going back home with the driver thinking about that incident and
we stopped at the traffic lights.
I turned my head to look out of the window
And I saw Mark in the coffee shop with the same girl, Sowon.
Sowon used to work in my company, she was not a close friend but she was a friend.
When Mark used to come to the company to visit me, he met Sowon also there many times.
Initially it was all fine but later there interactions seemed suspicious
He started giving her more attention than me, he would take her side over mine, I didn't realized but he was falling out of love.
But now looking at them, I feel sad at the fact that I was with someone like him in the past.
But
There was no other feeling, no jealousy, no heart clenching, no missing,........ no love.
At that point I realized that I moved on from him.
I smiled widely
This is the only thing since morning which made me happy.
I was happy that I freed myself from an unnecessary burden.
I felt light.
