Demo sighed.
she sighed as she heard Sven and Burt talking.

there was one thing that Sven was right about.

of course, it took awhile for Demo to figure out that he was the son of two toppats.

she got him a cupcake, that's nice.
but she didn't give him a birthday gift.
she apologized for not getting him a gift.
but he smiled instead.
and said the she is his birthday gift.
that's when she noticed.
that he did care.
that he was glad of what he got.
he didn't care about anything else, but her.
she felt her heart scream, and cry.
she felt it smile while letting it's tears drop.
she felt it... melt with joy.
she felt like crying.
Demo blinked again, snapping away from the past to now.
she didn't notice that lots of her tears have slipped away. soaking her fur.
she gasped for air, as she was sobbing quietly.
she sniffed as she knew..
she needs to decide.

Demo kept on hearing the talk that Sven and Burt are still having.
clearly, they were just loving each other
nothing surprising.
but.
they way Sven holds Burt at night just tells Demo something.
something, she couldn't quite touch.
something, she can't feel.
but it's there.
the way Sven talks to Burt, it's different.
but Burt enjoys it anyway.
does Demo have to.. deal with it?
that Burt has fallen in love with his only friend?

does Burt's heart beep faster when Sven's close?

because he feels safe around him?

making Demo feel... happy.

Demo feels lonely and sad without Burt with her.
mostly empty
Demo felt her heart cry and it just wants to get rid of this guilt.
she couldn't take that pain anymore
she sighed again and stood up, dusting all the sand off of her fur.
she walked to where Burt and Sven were, seeing Sven sleeping and Burt tracing Sven's shirt collar.
"hey, Burt" Demo spoke.
does she sound like she was crying
nah.
"hey Demo." Burt greeted back, making eye contact.
"umm... i just wanted to apologize for hurting Sven and umm, making you raise your voice" Demo sighed.
Burt smiled a soft smile.
"it's okay. you just lost control." Burt smiled.
Demo was surprised.
"but, i made you feel bad! i scratched him too deep! how can you forgive such a person like me!" Demo shouted.
Burt sighed.
"because i would forgive you no matter what" Burt told her.
then she felt that feeling.
she felt her heart scream
her heart skipped a beat
her heart cried.
and Demo blinked twice at that feeling.
it was such a good feeling.
it's a feeling that you wanna hug the person.
that's what Demo felt.
instead she walked over to Burt and placed her head on Burt's lap.
trying not to hurt Sven as well.
"aww" Burt whispered started to stroke Demo's fur.
he's too afraid to close his eyes.
Demo sniffed.
having the urge to cry.
but.
she must stay strong.
so that she wouldn't prove that she's weak.
Burt sighed as he continued stroking her fur.
she remembers.
she remembers when he would do that non-stop.
he would even fall asleep while doing it.
she just remembers those sweet memories.
sometimes, even the happiest memories can make you shed a few tears.
like always.
Burt's strokes slowed down, Demo noticed.
Demo looked up and saw Burt sleeping peacefully with Sven.
she knew Burt wouldn't sleep through the night.
why?
nightmares
they'd say your fears change when your older.
but it doesn't
that what Burt always repeats.
everyday.
anytime.
Demo felt her eyelids drooping.
the memories are making her sleepy.
damnit.

sleep.
she's not used to a peaceful, quiet night like it is now.
well, it would be quiet at first.
but then she would hear thunder storms or loud thuds.
but mostly soft crying.
Demo was kind of a light sleeper.
but she was glad she was.
she was able to be there for Burt as he grew up.
she was able to help him through those nightmares.
they started ever since his parents death.
and he had to see that with his own eyes.
and he was still little.
Demo has seen much more then Burt as a child.
she was abused.
and she hates her brother with all her might.
but..
she doesn't has to go through him again.
because all she wants is the best for Burt.
this.. this might be good for Burt.
this will make him happy.
if Burt feels the happiest around Sven.
that's good for her..
Demo will have to approve their relationship.
that's okay.
as long as Sven makes Burt happy.
Demo approves.
