The song below kinda relates to this poem.

I see your face in this dandelion field

Is your stepmother still hurting you?

Are you safe from her without me as a shield?

I watch the redheaded girl under the sky so blue

She reminds me of you sometimes

Something in her that was irresistible

A fragile beauty I couldn't buy with a dime

A frenzied enigma not found in circus shows

This new house that was not home

Had so many lost souls under its roof

Whiskey smells and broken glass in a house that was not a home

Not even home to the drunk demon living under the roof

I could hear the redheaded girl cry in her sleep

She is so afraid of the darkness

I have learned that tears have no use but my soul weeps

As I lie awake in the darkness

I hate this place.

Do you think of me when you paint at midnight?

Do you still paint at midnight secretly?

I still remember us as I think at night,

Of when we were young, and how we'd watch the sea

I loved you since I was seven and you were six

And I'd teach you chess and watch you paint

I'd talk to you about books and politics

As you drew outlines and taint

The skies in your art with sunsets

One day I will get out of here

The way Andy Dufresne did

I'll escape from here with not regret or tear

I will return to you like how the Little Prince did

Someone who loved his Rose

Please wait for me

Just hold on a little longer

.....

You might have noticed that the last 3 poems connect and are related.
