it was finally tuesday and soobin was wide awake at 3 o'clock in the morning, far too excited to fall asleep.
he was finally meeting daniel today in person.
the thought of meeting a boy he's been texting for weeks sent butterflies to his stomach.
he was terrified and excited at the same time. what if daniel finds him ugly in real life? what if something happens to the plane? what if daniel is a catfish? so many questions swirled his mind as time ticked by.

soobin locked his phone and laid down in his bed, staring at his ceiling with a smile on his face. though he said he'd sleep, he's far from being tired.
he was meeting daniel for the first time in person, how could he fall asleep knowing that?
but he did eventually after reading some stories and was awoken by his mother at 7am.
"soobin sweetie you have to wake up. you need to get ready." she spoke in a soft tone. her son emitted a groan in response, shoving his face further into his pillow.
"what time is it?" he mumbled. "it's almost half seven. don't you have to go to the airport today?" he nodded, slowly opening his eyes. "his plane doesn't land until 8 or 9."
"oh that's the same as hyeongjuns son! he's arriving today between 8 and 9."
soobin stared at his mother in confusion. "what?" "anyway get ready. you can take my car." with that, his mother left him.
he quickly showered and got dressed, heading downstairs to ask his mother something.
"mom?" he called out to her from behind their kitchen island. "yes soobinnie?" he stayed silent for a few seconds, trying to find the right words to ask her. "do- do you know anything about mr choi's son?"
she stopped what she was doing to turn around to face her son. "hyeongjun didn't tell me much but i do know he's a year older than you and that he's the captain of his schools basketball team. that's all i really know about him. i don't even remember his name because it's an english name. i think hyeongjun showed a picture of you to him so you don't have to worry about trying to find him. he'll find you." she explained, handing him the car keys.
"oh and i also put some money in your bank so you can get some breakfast together."
soobin thanked her, giving her a kiss on the cheek before he left the house. he entered the car, fastening his seatbelt as he hooked his phone to the aux cord of the car just when daniel sent him a message.

soobin turned bright red as he pulled out of the driveway and towards the airport, blasting his songs.
his heart was racing and his palms were becoming sweaty as he got closer to the airport, soon seeing it in his line of view.
his stomach was filled with nervousness as he parked the car. he took a deep breath but just hearing how shaky his breath was, he dropped his head onto the steering wheel which alerted the horn.
he was so nervous that he was started to second guess himself. all he wanted to do right now was go back home and curl up under his covers. and if what he's been thinking since this morning,
then daniel is mr choi's son.
he sat back in the seat and let out a loud groan of frustration.
after a few more minutes he left the car, walking as steady as he can towards the airport and walking inside.
it had been so long since soobin was last in an airport. he actually forgot how crowded it always is. he looked around at all the people walking by. there was too many people about that even with soobins height advantage, it was still impossible to spot daniel even with the boys bright pink hair.
he continued to search for the other, heading to the gate that daniel should have came from.
he was about to text daniel of his whereabouts when someone called out his name.
"soobin?"
the said boy spun around quickly to be faced with the boy he had been searching for who had the widest smile on his face.
"d-daniel?" he stuttered as he felt his mouth go dry. "hi. you're much taller than i pictured." he spoke, comparing their heights. soobins heart was beating so fast that it felt as if it was about to burst from his chest.
"h-h-how was your fl-ight?" soobin spoke in english, trying his best to get the pronunciations right.
"lonely. so very lonely. but you're here now so it's all good. are you okay? you look nervous?" daniel asked concerned, leaning in closer towards the tallers face.
'of course i'm fucking nervous. i have a crush on you but you're gonna be my step brother!'
soobin thought, wishing he could just come out and say it.
"i'm okay. just happy you're here."
after collecting daniels luggage, the two where headed towards the car before soobin was stopped yet again by a stranger this time.
"excuse me. are you choi soobin?" a boy taller than soobin asked in english but he definitely didn't look foreign. soobin nodded. "um who are you?"
"i'm jeremy choi. choi hyeongjuns son." the stranger- jeremy spoke with a smile.
the sentence jeremy said shocked soobin and daniel who finally looked at the guy.
"what the fuck are you doing here?" he cursed at the other who just stared down at daniel. "what a coincidence seeing you here short arse."
soobin moved his eyes from each of them, completely lost.
"what the fuck is happening?"
