eleven

the boys had a great day at the mall, returning home just past 4pm.

soobin was up in his room, trying on his new clothes. he hadn't received a text message from daniel all day which saddened soobin but the boy did live overseas so it was probably night time for him.

"soobin! come down for a minute!" his mother called him. he shouted a quick reply before grabbing his phone and heading down the stairs and into his living room where his mother was sat on the couch with his chemistry teacher.

"mr choi? why are you here?" he questioned his teacher, sitting down on the loveseat.

"soobin sweetie we have something to tell you." his mother started off before glancing at mr choi. "soohee- i mean your mother and i have been seeing each other for awhile now and we finally came up with the courage to tell you."

soobin was shocked at both his mother and mr choi. how could they have kept this from him? this was a huge thing. was he okay with it? of course he wasn't. he was furious. he loved his biological father very much and hated that him and his mother fell out of love but he could never hate him. or replace him.

"what? you're kidding right?" he spoke in disbelief. they both shook their heads, mr choi grabbing her hand. "no soobin we're not and we totally understand if you're mad at us but please accept us." his mother said calmly, hope in her voice.

"i can't believe you're just gonna replace dad like that and especially with my teacher! no! i won't ever allow this! you kept this from me for however fucking long and then expect me to like it?"

the two adults flinched at soobins outburst, not expecting this kind of reaction.

"soobin we get that you're mad at us but you can't stop this. this- us- is gonna happen whether you like it or not." mr choi said sternly, soobins mother trying to calm him down. "hyeongjun also has a son your age. you've always wanted a sibling right?" soohee piped in.

soobin shook his head before storming out the house and into the car. he let out a grunt, gripping the steering wheel as he rested his head on the surface.

he thought of where he could go to cool off. he thought of beomgyus but he's too loud and probably will only talk about terry. he might go to kais place but he doesn't even know if the has guitar practice today. he sighed. he wished he could go to daniels place but him being miles away is obviously impossible.

pulling out the driveway, he drove to kais place, finding it the best way to cool off since kai is way more caring towards the older.

he got close to the youngers house, pulling up onto his street. arriving at the house, soobin parked the car outside, leaving and walking up the path. soobin found kai's house to be like a second home to him. he's known the younger longer than he's known beomgyu, having met kai during primary and beomgyu in his first year of high school.

he knocked a few times on the door, hearing a faint "coming" that came from his friend. kai opened the door, a large wide smile on his face as he saw soobin standing at his door.

"soobinnie! what are you doing here?" he asked, welcoming the elder into his home. "i needed time away from home." was all soobin said, taking a seat on the sofa. kai took a seat beside him, resting his legs over the elders lap.

"why? is everything okay bin?" he asked worriedly, cocking his head to the side. soobin ruffles his purple hair, letting out a deep sigh.

"my mom has been seeing a guy and kept it from me." he started off, staring blankly at the lit fireplace in front of them. "isn't that a good thing? that she finally found someone?" the elder shrugged his shoulders.

"it's just how could she replace dad like that? he's not even dead yet she still found someone who expects me to call him my step dad. and it's mr choi. my chemistry teacher of all people."

kai could sense how stressed the elder was. scooting over, he wrapped his arm around soobins shoulders, rubbing his arm with his free one.

"i'm sorry hyung. you're welcome to sleep over for a few nights if you want. i'm sure your mom would understand why." soobin nodded, wrapping his arms around the raven haired, snuggling his face into his chest.

he needed this. he needed someone who would hold him, comfort him. it had also
been awhile since he got that mad. the last time soobin ever got mad was around the time his parents split up. though he was a 6 year old boy back then, he still got very mad that he even ran away from home. not getting any far of course as they found him in a neighbours garden.

as soobin was cuddled up with the younger, he listened to the boys fast heartbeat, trying to count the beats.

"your heartbeat is so fast hyuka. are you sick?" soobin asked, lifting his head to look up at the younger. the raven haired boy was looking down at the elder, his face redder than a cherry. 

"y-yeah i'm okay. i'm gonna get something to drink. you want anything?" soobin nodded his head, saying: "anything is fine." kai also nodded, quickly getting up and heading into
his kitchen. he closed the door, sliding down it, his head in his hands. his face as burning and his heart wouldn't stop. he clasped his hands over his mouth and nose.

all he could think of was how adorable the elder was being. snuggled up into his chest with a pout on his face as he spoke.

this was all because he was in love with his best friend.
