Once you do know what the question actually is, you’ll know what the answer means
-
When you try your best, but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse
Mr Kim had come over to their house again, the night before the trial to just let everyone know the proceedings and how it was all going to work out. Mr Kim was confident that because of the eight of them, that Kai was going to be saved and the others were going to be finally freed from the guilt they had over themselves.
Hana and the others were downright relieved, as it stressed them for the past week.
"Good work Hana, I must say what you did was extremely dangerous but you did the right thing." Mr Kim addressed her and she just shyly nodded in thanks. Everyone saw him off and bid him farewell until tomorrow.
The last piece of the puzzle placed and resolved.
Hoseok was actually with them that day. The day after the incident with Taemin, news obviously got round to Hoseok through Jimin and he rushed to the house as soon as he could, hugging Hana incredibly tightly he didn't dare let go for a good hour.
Since then, he apologised and joined them back with the group. He missed them, all of them and apparently Dawon had gone behind his back and befriended Momo, convincing her that what Hana and everyone was doing was a good thing.
They were all back together now, nervous about tomorrow's events but anticipating for things to finally come to a bittersweet end.
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
That night, they all slept in the livingroom of the home, bundled up in blankets and pillows with the soft crackles of the warm fire running.
It was finally warming up, the snow had lessened in the last few days and signs of spring was finally arriving. The warmth of everyone's comfort made Hana want this feeling forever.
The morning came in the blink of an eye as everyone got ready for the main event of the day. The boys dressed in suits while Hana, dressed in a simple respectful dress. She was nervous, they all were as they attended and sat on the wooden benches of the court room.
Taehyung had politely introduced Mr and Mrs Yoo to them as they attended the trial for their lost daughter. A heartbreaking sight for anyone.
Hana noticed, Aera, Taemin and Momo seated on one of the front benches, the court was starting so she held off her greetings to them.
Kai was brought into the room, handcuffed and seated on one of the pedestals. Aera nearly burst out into worried cries seeing him up there as Momo tried to gently assure the girl.
The judge speaks, describing the harsh realities of Yoo Rias' death and the upsetting sobs of her parents having to hear and relive the death of their own daughter. Taehyung sat with them to soothe Mrs Yoo.
"I believe the defendant has already admitted his crimes of the murder of Yoo Rias."
"Objection" Mr Kim spoke up, the judge proceeded for him to speak.
"The defendant only admitted to the crime to protect the true reason behind the death of Yoo Rias. You see, he does not have a solid motive to murder one of his best friends." Mr Kim continued, "to back up this claim, Mr and Mrs Yoo had provided photographic evidence of their long friendship, admitting that there was no bad blood between them."
"I would like to call upon a witness your honor." Mr Kim announces.
"You may proceed." The judge nods and everykne was surprised to see Momo instead of Aera walk to the stands.
She vows upon the court and proceeds to introduce who she is.
"Ms Hirai, please explain to the court what actually happened that night." Mr Kim urged.
Everyone watched as Momo confidently spoke the order of events that night and the reasoning behind it. She felt ashamed yet a huge weight lifted off her shoulders. The story was no surprise to everyone, even Rias' parents.
It was then Taemins turn to be called upon the stands as he too told his side of the story, hearing it Hana could see Kai's eyes fill with so much hope. Taemins confession to the court was filled with so much hurt and guilt, he truly felt sorry about the outcome in Rias but none of them truly had the intention of anything bad to happen to the girl, they all loved and cared for her.
After hearing their heartbreaking stories, the judge decided to call upon Mrs Yoo to the stand.
"Mrs Yoo, from what you have heard, would you still like to press charges against the defendant or any of the witnesses involved?" The judge asked.
Hana who held Hobi and Jimins hand squeezed theirs tightly, in anticipation of the result of the case.
"No your honor. I truly believe this was all a tragic accident and these kids honestly didn't mean for anything bad to happen. Rias was a very bright and honest girl and she had never spoke about them in ill ways. I only ever saw happiness radiating from her because of her friends so no." She glanced towards Kai who was crying and the three others who were at the stands watching her with guilty tear stained eyes,
"I do not wish to press charges on either of them." Mrs Yoo stood tall and spoke with resolve.
The judge announced, "Then the court and Jury have decided."
Hana squeezed her eyes tightly along with everyone else in the room.
"The defendant is Not Guilty."
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Cries and cheers of relief and joy filled the room as Kai was finally released from his shackles as his friends, Taemin, Momo and Aera were finally free to envelope him in an embrace. The four friends cried together.
Hana couldn't help but cry in her seat at the sight of the reunited friends, she smiled through her tears, she was thankful. So thankful to everyone in the room. She even saw the other boys beside her including Yoongi and Namjoon have tears in their eyes at the outcome of the events.
She watched as Mr and Mrs Yoo walk up to the group surrounding Kai, happily able to finally bring peace to everyone's hearts.
It was a bittersweet moment, unable to celebrate fully over the freedom of a young boy but the death of a girl too young.
She was so lost observing the moment between them that she didn't realise someone had been calling her until she felt a tap on her shoulder.
Looking up it was Hobi, smiling sweetly down at her, his hand extended while the other boys stood behind him waiting patiently for her.
"Come on, let's go Hana." Hobi gently said.
She took his hand and he allowed her to pull her up once their hands connected. Joining back with the group, Jimin and Taehyung wrapped their arms around her as they walked out of the room, the wooden doors closed a chapter of their lives they would never forget as they left.
And high up above or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try, you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth
Days had passed, Hana had returned home back with Yoongi in their tiny granny flat. Everyone was back to their usual peaceful lives of classes, hard work and respective schools, everyone now back in their separate ways as they all missed eschothers company.
Spring had dawned as flowers bloomed, the trees lush and the cold dreary winter weather overcome by flutters of butterflies and chirping of the birds as the days swallowed the nights again.
Today they stood, in black attire for the funeral of Yoo Rias. The promised spring that her parents knew Rias had wanted, surrounded by love and friends, cries for the heartbreak of a parents lost child.
Rias was too young, too loved to be taken away, but Hana knew life worked in strange ways as things are given and taken away sometimes when you mostly don't expect.
One by one, they laid flowers to rest with her, each of them saying their final words to the girl before finally letting her rest in peace.
"Thank you."
She looked up to see Kai genuinely smiling at her, Taemin, Momo, and Aera by his side.
"Thank you for all that you've done for us. For me, for Aera, for Taemin and Momo. All of us." He held out his hand in front of her.
"I know half of us don't deserve your forgiveness nor do we understand why you and the others went through so much for us, but we truly from the bottom of our hearts thank you and I hope we can-"
She grasped his hand with a wide smile, "Start over again?" She asked.
Kai's shy smile grew finally reaching his eyes.
"Yes. Start over again."
"Only if we can finally have our friend back too." Namjoon pouted and crossed his arms glaring at Kai.
Jin, Jungkook and Taehyung popped up surrounding Hana and him.
Kai stunned for a moment before he smiled sadly.
"I don't think I deserve all of your forgiveness, what I did was-"
"What you did was wrong but were the ones now asking for a start over." Jimin spoke up walking forward, holding his hand out.
"What do you say Jong-in?" Jimin smirked up at his old friend.
Kai didn't know what to do, internally he was battling himself for how wrong he treated everyone for years until he felt multiple nudges behind him.
"Come on Kai." Taemin urged with a smile on his face.
"Yeah you always complain that you miss them." Momo chuckled and Kai's eyes went wide.
"How did you-"
"Rias told us." Aera smiled up at him.
Looking back at Jimins extended hand and then back to his smiling face, behind him, Hana and the others stood there with the same pleasant smile of forgiveness on their faces. He stared down at his own hand, unsure.
"Is it really okay-?"
"Just take his hand already!" Taemin laughed and pushed Kai forward, his hand connecting with Jimin's.
"Its good to see you again Jong-in." Jimin Chuckled and Kai flushed.
"I told you I don't like people calling me by my real name." He grumbled before they heard someone clear their throat from behind them.
They all turned around to see Mrs Yoo standing there, smiling at all of them.
"I'm really happy to know that Rias had such good friends. And Hana." She turned to the girl.
Hana's breath hitched in nervousness at the sudden mention of her name.
"Y-yes?"
Mrs Yoo came forth and gave a big hug, she froze up before slowly relaxing and returning it.
"My husband and I cannot thank you and your friends enough for not only putting my daughter but myself and husband at peace but to her friends, Kai, Momo, Taemin and Aera. We cannot thank you enough." She smiled as tears were brought to her eyes as he pulled back to look at Hana and the boys.
"All of you, Thank you."
Lights will guide you home.
And ignite your bones.
And I will try, to fix you.

"Guys?" Namjoon spoke up from the dining table back at the Dionysus home. He stared down at his phone wide eyed as he frantically tapped Jin's shoulder. They were all gathered there for dinner after the funeral, to spend time with eachother before they split apart to their own ways again.
"Aish! What." Jin stopped Namjoons hand from his constant taps.
Namjoon smiled widely, "Check your emails."
