Kai: "you're coming with me" he pointed at his brothers
Mako: "run" he told the others "NOW!"
Kai air bent blasting his brother across the room
Wu: "Mako!" He was going to run after him
Mako: "just go! I'm right behind you"
Bolin tackled Kai to the ground pinning him to the ground. Kai gave him a smirk and blew air out of his mouth causing a large wind blowing his brother off of him. Bolin crashed into the wall next to the 2 Fire benders.
Bolin: "shit" he noticed the 2 fire-benders walking towards him
The 2 went to grab Bolin but Asami jumped in crashing one of them into the wall.
Bolin: "Asami?!"
Asami: "got your ass up and run!" She grabbed Bolin's hand and dragged him to the back door
As they were about to go through the door a wall of fire stopped them. The fire started to spread all over the house.
Mako: "Kai stop this!" He backed away from the air bender "we're your family"
Kai: "I'm only loyal to my commander" he smirked "I'm sorry my brother" he bent a gush of air at him
Mako flew back to where Bolin and Asami were.
Mako: "where's the rest?" He panted as he stood back up
Asami: "they made it out"
Mako: "we need to think of something"
Bolin: "what would Korra do?"
Mako: "shit, uhh"
Asami: "I have a stupid Idea, just distract them for the mean time"
Bolin: "on it"
The brothers went after the 3 benders while Asami did the plan.
Mako fought with Kai trying not to hurt him but Kai kept putting distance between them with his bending. Bolin was taking care of the other 2, he yelped when the woman Fire bender burned him
Meanwhile Asami ran to Korra's room grabbing a blanket then running downstairs to the kitchen wetting it
Asami: "come on!"
Mako and Bolin stoped fighting and ran to Asami, once they reached her, she wrapped them up around the wet blanket as they ran through the fire. The wet blanket help protect them from the fire as they ran through the back door.
They made it outside and saw Senna in a large blue pickup truck, everyone was inside waiting for them. Asami, Mako, and Bolin jumped into the trunk and Senna drove off.
Mako: "you alright Bo" he panted
Bolin: "I think" he held his arm "I just got burned, that's all"
Asami: "where are we going?"
Mako: "no clue, but Senna knows what to do"
After a few minutes of continuous driving, Senna drive under a bridge, she clicked a button in the car and the wall opened up like doors wide enough for the car. She went it and the door walls closed.
Jinora: "where are we?"
Senna: "my hideout, no one will know we're here" she got out the car and walk through a door.
Senna turned on the lights revealing a large lab. There were 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen/dining room. The area was mostly a Lab than anything.
Mako: "what is this place"
Senna: "me and Tonraq were building this as a bunker and we finished it before you guys left to the mission"
Bolin: "how come you never told us about it"
Senna: "we were going to tell you but we were going to wait"
Wu: "what's the lab for?"
Senna: "oh I use to be a scientist, well more of a medical scientist"
Asami: "Korra told me you made that ointment that help get rid of those hickeys"
Senna: "yes, it's a multi use cream, it's also helps with cuts, burns, and keeps your skin nice and smooth" she pulled out a bottle of ointment and put some on Bolin's burn
Bolin: "thanks" he smiled
Mako: "is there a way you can take a look at this?" He pulled out a syringe with pink liquid in it "I got it from one of the fire benders, they dropped it while fighting Bolin"
Asami: "isn't that the injection we seen on the videos"
Mako: "yes, I was thinking maybe we can replicate the same serum, use it on ourselves go capture Kai"
Opal: "and maybe find a way to reverse the brainwash programming"
Mako: "bingo"
Layla: "and how are you going to make more?"
Bolin: "Senna" he gave the woman a smile
Senna: "I'm a medical scientist not a chemist"
Mako: "same shit, I know you can do it"
Senna: "fine but if you die from it I don't want you haunting me"
Mako: "I'll take it" he gave her the syringe
Senna headed off to the Laboratory and got started. Meanwhile everyone got settled down while Opal gave her aunt a call.
Bolin: "do you really think we can turn Kai back?"
Mako: "it's a 50 50 chance" he sighed
Jinora: "what if we do turn him back, what about his bending, wouldn't they want to do experiments with him"
Wu: "maybe there's a way to get rid of bending"
Mako: "yeah, by a lion turtle or the avatar himself" he scoffed "those are only in the show"
Layla: "Asami?"
Asami: "what is it?" She looked at the girl who handed her the laptop.
Layla: "I think everyone should see it"
Asami grabbed the laptop from the girl, on the screen it was a picture of her mother with the words completed next to her name, Asami's eyes widened. She looked lower and saw the play button. She looked at everyone to see if they were ready to watch and they all nodded. She pressed play.

Scientist: "test subject 9892, please have a seat"
Yasuko was escorted to the chair, she didn't struggle or say a word, she followed the orders. Once seated and tied up, the scientist placed the metal helmet on her head and was about to program her until Zaheer walked in.
Zaheer: "I believe she deserves a audience" he smirked "bring her in!"
2 guards came in holding a woman with a black bag over her head and hands tied. They threw her onto the floor by Zaheer and left the room
Zaheer: "well if it isn't my favorite person in the world" he removed the bag revealing ocean blue eyes
Yasuko: "Korra!?"
Korra: "let her go!" She struggled out of her cuffs
Zaheer: "I have other plans" he smirked
Zaheer picked Korra up by her hair and threw her against the wall away from Yasuko.
Zaheer: "start the process" he told the scientist
Scientist: "right away sir" she started programming
Korra: "what are you doing?!"
Zaheer: "making her my warrior of course"
Scientist: "she's ready sir"
Zaheer grabbed a pink injection and walked towards Yasuko.
Zaheer: "you failed her" he told Korra "you're too late"
Korra: "you don't have to do this!"
Zaheer: "but this is what she wants, isn't that right Yasuko?"
Yasuko: "yes commander, more than anything" she smiled as the lady untied her
Zaheer injected her with the pink solution and took a step back. Yasuko waved her arm around making the rock on the table fly across the room.
Scientist: "Earth bender" she smile
Korra: "what the fuck is going on?!"
Zaheer: "I'm simply brainwashing everyone in the our prison and giving them powers, I'm also giving everyone in the red Lotus powers too"
Korra: "so what, your gonna do the same to me?" She asked in a angered tone
Zaheer: "the brainwashing part of course but I have other plans in mind" he took out a small box out of his pocket "when the time comes you get this instead" he opened it revealing a white glowing injection "you will serve me"
Korra: "I'll never serve you!"
Zaheer: "Yasuko"
Yasuko: "yes commander?"
Zaheer: "take care of her, but keep her alive"
Yasuko: "yes commander"
Zaheer walked away and a came back with a basket of rocks
Zaheer: "have fun" he smiled and left with the Scientist lady
Korra: "shit" she saw Yasuko heading for her with 4 rocks floating around her "Yasuko don't!"

Asami didn't know what to think, she had so many mixed emotions. She closed the laptop slowly unable to process anything, her mother was brainwashed and turned into a weapon who was ordered to beat up on her girlfriend.
Asami: "Korra's alive" she covered her mouth
Jinora: "are you guys alright?" She asked the boys and Asami
Mako: "we need to do something"
Wu: "what are we going to do"
Bolin: "we'll have to wait, just until Senna figures out the serum and when we get the white lotus over here"
Opal: "I just talked to Lin she said her and the troops we be here sometime tomorrow afternoon" she explained "they need time to grab everything they need and they head out this way"
Mako: "that should give Senna enough time"
Layla: "Asami? Are you okay?" She asked the frozen lady
Asami: "I-I just...need time" she got up and left the room
Everyone decided to rest till the morning, unlike Senna who stayed up working on the serum. In the morning the teens made their way to the mini kitchen, Mako and Bolin were cooking while everyone else was in the dining area.
Layla: "where's Senna?" She notice the woman wasn't around
Wu: "probably still in the lab" he shrugged
Asami: "I'll go check" she got up and headed to the laboratory
Asami found Senna extracting pink liquid from a small Vial and into a syringe.
Asami: "I have some news"
Senna: "Asami, what is it?"
Asami: "Korra's alive" she saw the woman freeze
Senna: "really?" She looked at Asami
Asami: "yes, we saw her in a video when my mother was turned"
Senna: "oh Asami, I'm so sorry" she put her stuff down and hugged the girl
Asami: "it's alright, we just need to figure everything out and we can get her and Korra back" Asami was trying to stay positive
Senna: "once we figure this serum we'll get one step closer" she smiled at her
Asami: "for now, you should take a break, the boys are making breakfast"
Senna joined Asami and the others for breakfast, it was pretty silent, there were small conversations here and there.
After they ate, Senna continued her project while Mako and Bolin were training the others.
Senna: "guys I think I did it!" She came running in the training room
Mako: "really?" He stopped everything and walked up to his guardian
Senna: "only one way to find out" she was about to inject herself with the syringe
Bolin: "wait!" He stopped the woman "if it kills you there goes our chances of getting the powers"
Senna: "well I'm not giving it to you" she argued
Mako: "Bolin's right"
Asami: "I'll do it"
Opal: "what!?"
Senna: "definitely not, if you die and we get Korra back-"
Asami: "I don't care, I need to"
Mako: "I'll do it I-"
Jinora: "it shouldn't be the guys, they know the way the red lotus fights, they know their weaknesses, we are going to need them"
Senna: "it's settled I'm doing it"
Jinora: "but we need you too, Mako's right, if this doesn't work you still need to figure it out"
Senna: "so now what?"
Asami: "give it to me"
Opal: "no, maybe you can help your mom out of the brainwash or Korra"
Jinora: "that narrows it down to me, Opal and Wu"
Layla: "and me, I'll do it"
Asami: "hell no!"
Layla: "It should be me, it's my fault Korra's in this mess"
Senna: "your body might not be able to handle it" she looked at Opal and Wu "maybe one of them, Jinora can't because of Kai"
Mako: "what?! No!" He grabbed Wu hiding him behind himself
Bolin: "I'm not letting Opal do such thing" he jumped in front of Opal
Asami: "we aren't getting anywhere!" She brought the attention to her, "we need to decide some how"
Layla: "I have an idea" she spoke up "we vote, but we can't vote for ourselves and only vote once"
Senna: "fine, who votes me?" No one raised their hands "Mako?" Bolin and Layla raised a hand,"Bolin?" Mako raised a hand, "Asami?" Wu and Opal raised a hand, "Opal?" Asami and Senna raised a hand, "and Wu?" Jinora raised a hand, everyone voted which meant Layla and Jinora were safe
Layla: "it's a tie, Mako, Asami, and Opal"
Senna: "great" she rolled her eyes
Mako: "what now?"
Layla: "another vote only those three" she simply said "I still vote Mako"
Asami: "I'm still voting Opal"
Opal: "Mako"
Wu: "Asami"
Jinora: "Asami"
Senna: "Opal"
Bolin: "Mako"
Mako: "Asami"
Layla: "another tie, Mako and Asami"
Senna: "so what another vote? We can't keep doing this"
Mako: "shut up and vote" he glared at Senna "i automatically go to Asami and Asami votes me"
Bolin&Layla: "Mako"
Wu&Opal&Jinora&Senna: "Asami"
Mako: "what?!"
Asami: "it's settled" she walked up to Senna
Senna took her arm and slowly stabbed the needle into her arm, everyone watched as Senna slowly injected the pink liquid into the girl's arm. Nothing happened.
Bolin: "did it work"
Wu: "why isn't nothing happening?"
Senna: "how do you feel?" She asked Asami
Asami: "it hurt like a bitch but I feel fine"
Opal: "don't you gotta try and bend"
Bolin: "bring a cup of water and something made of earth" he told Layla who left right away to bring the stuff, she came back and placed the stuff on the floor "okay now bend"
Asami: "what do I do?"
Mako: "just feel, I guess" he shrugged "dig deep and concentrate"
Asami focused on the water, but she didn't feel anything, a minute later she gave up and moved to the rock, still nothing.
Jinora: "are you sure this is right?" She looked at Senna
Senna: "I don't understand, why when Zaheer's people get it they bend right away"
Layla: "because they are brainwashed, remember? They're basically programmed with the knowledge they need" she sighed "at least we know Senna's serum doesn't cause death"
Opal: "we need to figure out if Senna's serum worked" she looked at Asami "if you can't water or earth bend then maybe you're air or fire"
Mako: "just close your eyes and breathe"
Asami did has told, she closed her eyes a took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
Bolin: "holy shit, it worked"
Asami open her eyes to find Fire hugging her hand
Wu: "she's Fire bending" he was in awe
Mako: "how many did you make?" He looked at Senna
Senna: "that's the only one I made but I know the formula now, I can make enough for just us"
Mako: "that's good enough"
5 hours later
Senna: "alright I got everything ready, who's next?" She came in with 6 syringes
Bolin: "ou ou me, me next" he was excited "I hope I'm a fire bender"
Senna injected him, Bolin tried to fire bend but nothing happened
Bolin: "aw man" he was bummed out "maybe earth" he walked up to the rock and took in a breath and closed his eyes
Senna: "yup earth bender" she smiled that her serum was working "Mako?" She walked up to the boy and injected him, he held out his hand creating a fire ball
Bolin: "for Fuck sake, anything I want you get" he crossed his arms
Wu: "it makes sense why you guys got what you got"
Asami: "what do you mean?"
Wu: "well Bolin is buff so of course he'll be an earth bender, but you and Mako are more, how do I put it, slim but tuff like fire, if that makes sense"
Opal: "so based of looks? Or muscle?"
Wu: "yea I guess"
Jinora: "what do you think I'll be"
Wu: "air, you're too slim, so is Opal" he looked at Senna "you I can't tell maybe water because you're toned, and have a perfect frame"
Senna: "if I was your age and you weren't gay I'd probably ask you out on a date for that"
Wu: "ou" he smirked and they both broke into a laugh
Opal: "let's see how right Wu is"
The two girls were injected and Wu was right, Jinora and Opal were Air benders.
Layla: "wow he was right!" She smiled at the girls who were making small tornadoes in their hands
Senna: "oh great wise one, it's your turn" she walked up the boy "what do you think you are"
Wu: "I want to say Air bender, because..well look at me I'm a stick" they laughed as he was injected "moment of truth"
Moments later her was bending a rock
Bolin: "ok buff guy" he chuckled "so much for guessing"
Wu: "I think I'm a glitch"
Asami: "it's probably because you're a twig, you know twig nature, nature earth"
Wu: "Fuck you" he pouted and crossed his arms "I said stick, not twig" everyone chuckled
Senna: "alright my turn" she injected herself and concentrated on the water since Wu said maybe water
Wu: "why don't you look at that"
Mako: "Wu was right"
Opal: "he redeemed himself"
They all watched as Senna bend the water around herself.
Layla: "hey what about me"
Senna: "I don't want you to do it, I'm not sure how it will react with your body, you know since your young and more fragile" she explained
Layla: "I guess you're right" she sighed
After everything was figured out they all trained trying to learn how to control their new power, they even watched a couple of episodes of Avatar the last air bender, just to see if the advice help, which it did, kinda.
Opal: "my aunt and the white lotus will be here in 2 hours"
Mako: "that gives us time to find Kai"
Layla: "how are you guys going to do that?"
Asami: "live bait"
Wu: "explain"
Asami: "well think about it, he's after Mako and Bolin for Zaheer's army"
Jinora: "so Mako and Bolin are bait"
Asami: "yes, Kai doesn't know we have bending and we can jump in"
Bolin: "yeah but he doesn't travel alone"
Layla: "he travels with 2 other fire benders"
Jinora: "we have the numbers"
Mako: "but they have the experience"
Layla: "I think you guys can manage" she was confident in them
Mako: "what's the plan?" He looked at Senna
Senna: "don't look at me, I'm the one to ask that question" she looked Bolin
Bolin: "I'm not good at planning, I'm better at following orders" he let out a nervous chuckle and looked at Layla
Layla: "I'm only 9" she shrugged making the three sigh
Wu: "the three of them are lost without her" he whispered to Asami, Jinora and Opal
Opal: "tell me about it"
Mako: "Asami?" He looked at the girl with hopeful eyes "you got us out of a burning building, and you came up with the bait idea"
Asami: "well..." she let out a sigh "where would he first go to look for you guys"
Bolin: "our secret hideout in the park"
Asami: "we can go there first" she earned nods from everyone "we take Kai and the fire benders, remove the programming and maybe they'll fight with us, and theirs as chance they kept some of their memory"
Layla: "and we can use their knowledge as a advantage"
Asami: "exactly"
Bolin: "but how are we going to remove the programming?"
Asami: "leave the part to me, for now let's get your brother" she earned nods again and ran out the door to the car.
Senna: 'she's a keepers' she giggled to herself
Mako was driving to their secret hideout in the park while Asami explained the plan.
Mako: "we're here"
Asami: "Layla, stay in the car"
Layla: "but"
Asami: "I need you to keep a eye on Zaheer's list" she earned a nod "I'll be back" she walked out and met with the other's.
Opal: "what now?"
Asami: "Where's this hideout?"
Bolin: "over here, we found this cave a while back"
He led them to a cave entrance covered in vines, Mako removed the vines and walked in.
Asami: "Bolin, Opal and Wu follow Mako" they went in the cave "Senna and Jinora, find a place to stay low out here, we will be able to see when Kai comes in"
Senna: "alright"
The three spread out in different directions, Asami choose a spot where she can see the cave and the truck where Layla was.
Moments later, 3 figures were moving towards the cave, Kai and the fire benders. Asami looked across from her making eye contact with Senna and gave her a nod. Senna did the same with Jinora. The three girls moved in.
Mako heard foot steps slowly making a entrance.
Mako: "hide" he whispered to Opal and Wu
Opal and Wu found a spot to hide, while Mako and Bolin stayed in the center of the cave.
Kai: "well if it isn't my brother's" he walked in with a no good smile "where's your friends"
Mako: "we wanted to talk to you alone, you're our brother, what's gotten into you" he was trying to act clueless
Bolin: "we're worried about you Kai"
Kai: "I'm doing just fine"
Bolin: "this is the way you're taking in Korra's death?" He saw the boy's eyes widen "Kai?"
Kai: "she's not dead" he clenched his fists "she can't be"
Mako: "we were going to tell you but someone took you away from the hospital" he was playing along with Bolin's plan
Bolin: "she was killed"
Kai: "that can't be!" He lashed out "she's the key-"
His sentence was caught off when a blast of wind came from behind him. Kai and the 2 Fire benders flew past Bolin and Mako landing on their backs.
Asami: "now!"
Mako and Asami stood on opposite sides of Kai creating a fence of fire with their arms. There was no escape for Kai.
Jinora and Opal trapped the first fire bender by continuously blowing air at him keeping him against the wall.
Senna bent water out of a pouch and towards the second fire bender against the wall trapping by turning it into ice.
Bolin and Wu worked together to hand cuff Kai's and the fire benders arms and legs using rock.
Kai: "what you do!"
Senna: "a experiment" she smirked
Asami: "Mako, bring the car closer" he nodded and left
Kai: "you won't get away with this, Zaheer will rise with our leader"
Fire bender1: "you may hold us hostage but when the day comes we will be led by someone stronger"
Fire bender2: "someone wiser"
Kai: "someone more powerful"
Asami: "I thought Zaheer was your commander"
Kai: "he is, but he's also the man that holds the new commander, when the day comes he will hand over our commander" he grinned a evil grin "and once we have our commander we we'll be on top" he panted "you will bow down to our great commander"
Opal: "none of this is making sense"
Senna: "let's just get them back, and tie up their mouths, I don't want them breathing fire in my car"
The group made it back to the car and Asami was happy to see Layla safe. On the way back Layla told Asami about the new benders that are in Zaheer's army and how he is almost done with everyone on his wanted list.
They made their way inside the secret laboratory, they escorted the hostages into a room tying them to the bed frame.
Senna: "ok we got them, now what?"
Opal: "build the machine that brainwashed these guys"
Mako: "and how in the world are we going to do that?"
Bolin: "it's not like we have a builder or inventor in this place"
Wu: "you guys do" he pinched the bridge of his nose
Senna: "you can build? No offense bu-"
Wu: "no not me!" He cut her off "Asami Sato" he gestured to Asami
Mako&bolin&Senna: "OOH" it clicked in their heads
Senna: "that makes more sense" she looked at a giggling Asami "if you need anything let us know, we'll get you anything"
Asami: "thanks" she smiled "Layla, I'm going to need you to pull up a video with a good view of the machine"
Layla: "on it"
The two made their way to the lab, Layla pulled up the video and Asami got to building.
Mako kept watch of the 3 hostages, he watched as Kai avoided eye contact, he didn't want to look at Mako, he looked bad. Mako was hurt, he hated seeing his brother like this.
Wu: "you alright?" Wu walked inside the room finding Mako sitting on the floor with his back against the wall
Mako: "oh, yeah" he smiled at the smaller boy "just..." he didn't know what to say
Wu: "it's okay, I understand" he sat next to Mako a laid his head on his shoulder.
Mako's heart warmed, he held Wu's hand interlocking their fingers. They stayed there as they watched the fire benders fall asleep and Kai trying to get out of the ties.
Moments later Jinora walked in the room.
Jinora: "Asami's ready" she saw her friends stand up to grab Kai "not him, not yet" she stopped them
Wu: "why?"
Jinora: "I just want to test Asami's machine on one of them first" she gestured to the fire benders "before we use it on Kai"
Mako: "alright"
Mako and Wu walked away from Kai and towards the male fire bender and headed towards Asami.
Mako: "keep watch" he told Jinora as he left with Wu and the hostage
Jinora was left alone with Kai and the female Fire bender. Kai was started to stare at Jinora, it felt like he was staring into her soul, but Jinora just sat down and watched.
Jinora's phone rang, it was her father.
Jinora: "hello?"
Tenzin: "where are you, you said you were going to be with Asami for the night and you didn't show up to school"
Jinora: "I know something came up"
Tenzin: "I need you to come home now! This is not like you!"
Jinora: "dad I can't-"
Tenzin: "what do you mean you can't! Is Asami becoming a bad influence?!"
Jinora: "no!"
Tenzin: "I need you back home in 20 minutes"
Jinora: "I can't" she hung up not letting him talk after 'I'm so dead'
She looked back up towards Kai, he was still staring her down. She let out a sigh and walked towards the boy and sat in front of him. She pushed his curly hair back as she stared into his green eyes.
Jinora: "don't worry we'll get you out of this" she made their foreheads touch.
A tear fell from his eye, 'this isn't me, I never would hurt any of you guys, I lost control' he had a angry face on but tears fell from his eyes 'please Jinora, please believe me' he spoke to her but those words wouldn't come out his mouth, and it wasn't because of his being tied up.
Kai pulled his head away from Jinora and looked away in frustration.
