"Babe?" You call as you step out of the shower in Harry's bathroom, water running down your skin. "Haz!" You call again after no answer. You've only been dating for 4 months and it's been going really well. Although you two don't live together it feels like you do.
"Yeah?" You hear him enter the bedroom attached to the bathroom.
"I don't have any clean clothes here. Can I borrow something?"
"Sure I'll lay stuff out on the bed"
"Thank you" you begin to dry off and start your after shower routine. Once you exit the bathroom you find a few of Harry's sweatshirts and sweatpants for you to choose from. You grab his favorite sweatshirt and put it on then pull on grey sweatpants, throwing your hair into a quick messy bun. You open his bedroom door, Harry looking up at the sudden noise. He just stares at you. You shoot him a confused look as it seems like he can't form words.
"It's- I just- I love you" he blurts out. Your heart starts racing out of your chest. This was the first time either of you have said it.
"You too" you word vomit. Mentally cursing, you move to the kitchen trying to avoid the awkward situation. You play with the rings on your fingers, overthinking the situation. Your chest tightens as the rate of your breathing is increased. Opening the door to Harry's apartment, you make your way outside; leaving Harry to wonder what your doing and why you just left after his vulnerable statement.
After debating with yourself for almost an hour, you head back inside.
"H-Harry?" You softly call into the empty space. Heading to his bedroom to look for him, you find him aggressively writing in his song book.
"Harry, I-I know your angry with me; you have every right to be." You nervously fiddle with your fingers while speaking, "I'm kind of angry with myself too but it's whatever. The point is-"
"Do you love me y/n?" Harry interrupts you rather harshly.
"Uh what?" The question came from nowhere.
"Do you love me?" He softens.
"Well I-I mean," you stutter.
"Alright" annoyed Harry sighs, standing from his bed to walk you out, "you let me know when you've got yourself figured out ok" he sarcastically grins like you're a child.
"Hey, it's me," you speak into your phone, "I um kinda figured you wouldn't pick up, and you're probably busy so I'll just say this. I'm not good at admitting feelings and I never meant to hurt you by it. True emotions, like love, scare the shit out of me. If you haven't noticed I tend to keep my guard up. I was told not to do that and I'm trying, so here goes nothing. Um, I love you Harry... just call me back when you get this" you sigh, hanging up the voicemail, hoping for the best.
