He pulled her all the way to one of the biggest rooms in the entire castle, the library that was filled with shelves that hit the ceiling crammed with books. She looked in awe of the giant room but she was on edge because of Dream.
"I'm not an idiot y'know...I can tell that there's something more than being members of L'manburg there, Tommy doesn't listen to Wilbur of all people or tubbo..." he said with a frown and Y/n's anxiety spiked a bit and it was visible.
"I don't know what you mean...I mean unless you consider best friends?" She said as she pulled her arm away from him and she avoided looking at the porcelain mask.
"DON'T lie to my face-" he said as he grabbed her hands a bit roughly "I'm not in the mood so just tell me" he hissed softly.
"Ok ok- we come from the same town ok- I don't know what else you want from me" she tried to pull her hands out of his, keyword try. He didn't budge at all
"Ok...was that so hard? All you have to do is listen and it makes it so much easier" he said as he let go of one hand then he pulled her by her hand as he took her somewhere in the library, he pulled her down one of the shelves and at the end there was a cozy nook to sit and read. He pulled her over and motioned she sit as he did.
She listened but she tried to put space between them, she was getting the most mixed feelings from him, one second he's threatening the next he's acting like some kind of lost puppy. She was nervous as she sat on the hardwood floor a good few feet away from him.
"So....why?" She said as she watched him, he had taken off his hoodie and proceeded to take his mask off which made her more on edge.
"Nobody comes here so I thought you might talk to me here" he said after a moment. He seemed calmer here.
"And why do we need to talk?" She asked she hugged herself a bit
"Because now that we're not at war I don't see why we don't get to know one another, maybe be friends?" He shrugged a bit as he kept his eyes on her face mainly
That's when it started to click in her head, he was attempting to court her. She frowned softly as she finally made eye contact with him
"Dream...listen...I...you seem like a pleasant guy and sure as hell a smart one but just because we're no longer at war doesn't mean we're on good terms...just this week I've almost died multiple times at your hand or your order, I appreciate that trying to make amends with L'manburg by trying to...befriend me but I'm not sure that we'll ever really be on good terms for a while.." she said and looked off to the side a bit awkwardly
Dream felt something ugly bubble, he hadn't even said or done anything and she was shooting him down. She was right that he wanted to be close to her but he didn't care for L'manburg whatsoever. He frowned as he gently clenched his fists he didn't want to blow up "I apologize for my war tactics and for all that but I really think you should reconsider, I'd really like to get to know you" he pressed on and got a bit closer.
Panic started to raise in her and she tried to move away a bit "that doesn't change the fact that My friends and I almost died" she said as she was looking to the entrance of the shelf to see if she could make it far is she tried to run.
The feeling continued to bubble he seemed to move quietly as he soon had hold of her hands and he looked into her eyes he had hoped this would be a bit easier
"Listen I'm not dancing around this anymore, the only reason I made that deal with Tommy was to get to this point, I don't care about L'manburg or any of the people there...but until you people joined the fight I had it all under wraps, they were giving up until Wilbur took over the army and his little group of misfits...he hid you from me the entire time but I have you now and I can't let you go...you and those two did something to turn the tides of this war...I planned to be gentle but you really make it difficult" he looked like he was losing it as he sat up on his knees towering over Her as he held her hands tightly and he tried to get ahold of her better.
Y/n was terrified and before he could get any closer she kicked him hard where the sun didn't shine making him let out a groan of anguish as he let go. She took this time to get up and make a run for it and she ran to the exit of the library soon enough his heavy footsteps followed her as he called her name but all she heard was her own heart pounding in her ears as she ran. As quickly as she could and soon she swung the door open and made a mad dash trying to lose him as she ran.
Dream had his mask on his face half hazardously as he sprinted after her, she was barely out of his reach "I SWEAR TO GOD Y/N IF YOU DON'T TURN YOUR ASS AROUND-" he called out and tried to grab at her
As she ran as fast as she could she wasn't able to stop as a door opened and put emerged Tubbo and bad arms full of potions. She tried to skid to a stop but so did Dream from behind her. The four collided and there was a ginormous puff of smoke as about a dozen freshly brewed potions went all over.
Y/n coughed as she tried to wave away the smoke but as she did she realized she couldn't see her hand. She panicked a bit before she realized what happened. She looked around in fear as she looked for the other three. They were all completely invisible but she could see the white mask floating as it seemed to be moving as if looking around well.
"What the hell?!" Tubbo called out from her side she grabbed at the air and managed to grab his hand and she covered his mouth as the mask looked towthem
"Oh my- are you all ok?" Bad asked and he seemed to try and walk around and find the others. Y/n gently started to pull tubbo away as she tried to be as silent as possible and she was thankful he just went with her. She took bads rambling as a blessing as he covered for them practically. When they were far enough from where they had last seen Dream she took her hand off of Tubbo's mouth.
"Oh my fucking god I think I'm going into cardiac arrest" she said and she squeezed his hand tightly
"What? Why? And what was all that about?" He sounded concerned as he held her and he managed to wrap an arm around her
"He's a fucking psycho! We need to get the fuck out of here now- do you have any unbroken potions on you at all?" She asked and he seemed to hum as he used his free hand to feel
"I think so..." he said after a moment
"Great- now we need to find Tommy and leave" she said as she pulled him along silently.
"Ok- the potions we made should last for a while so we should be good...y/n are you ok?" He could hear and feel her trembling
"Y-yea...I-I'll tell you when we get home" she said.
They searched and soon found Tommy arguing with the doctor
"Listen arsehole- I'm human- you can't tell me otherwise-" he said and looked away crossing his arms.
Y/m didn't want to deal with another person so she let go of tubbo and she grabbed a rather heavy book in the room and hit the doctor over the head knocking him out almost immediately
Tommy shrieked "who's there" he was cut off as tubbo covered Tommy's mouth
"Shhh- we have to get out of here now!" Tubbo said leaving Tommy confused as he managed to remove the invisible hand from his mouth
"What the hell?...y/n are you here?" He asked as he felt tubbo put an invisible invisibility potion in his hand that he downed once he managed to find the lid
"Yea Tommy- now let's go! Dreams lost it , we have to go before he finds us" she said in a panic.
They watched as his face contorted to confusion before disappearing "what happened?" He felt them grab his hands and help him up as they headed out making sure to step over the passed out man
"I'll tell you both when we get home now c'mon" she said and they went silent as they held hands and headed out as silent as possible.
As they headed out to the garden they had to be careful as puffy, George and sapnap were out there sitting at a table as they seemed to be planning. They had to tiptoe as silently as possible and George didn't seem to hear it but puffy did for sure and she went quiet trying to listen and sapnap looked at her confused as she motioned to listen. He stood once he realized that there was someone out there. He let his hands go hot and he held them out trying to find them once he figured they were invisible. Puffy and George just watched.
They had frozen in place when sapnap got up. He was getting so close and soon he managed to touch some of them his hands had to have been white hot as he did. He had burned through the clothes immediately and gotten skin. A Loud shriek of pain startled him and he stumbled back and fell flat on his ass as puffy and George got up and the three ran.
