Quiet guardians with scented bark
There is one tree in this forest
That has a scar and a mark
A mark deeper than any on your wrist
A tree that withstood a blow from an axe
A tree who was determined not to fall
It's wood dreaded being made into a cask
So it stood firm and tall
As the axe sank into its 1000 year old wood
Sinking deeper so the tree felt pain
Pain of a kind that feel it you never could
But the tree had withstood generations of rain
And it would stand generations more
The axe could not cut through its skin
It couldn't and could never reach its core
And if you tried to cut it again it would still win
