she awoke with a load buzz ringing all through her
took a moment of scrutiny, the clothes disarray, makeup in aberration,
immediately unsettled she knew what they had taken
and it wasn't anything she was holding
for it was something far more precious
egregious abuse, but she was grateful she still had her life
