*A few weeks later*
"So, you still talking to that lame nigga" Herb asks from behind me as I strap in Yosohn into his car seat; "I don't see how that's any of your business Herbert" I reply while closing the door. "Better not have him around my son Mia, I ain't playing" he shouts as I enter my car causing me to scowl before opening the passenger window; "Boy you better stay in your damn lane, don't come at me sideways when your trick stays chilling with my son bitch" I say before reversing out of his driveway. I may not like Herb but I try to maintain a cordial relationship with him for the sake of our son but he stays working my nerves that's why we always arguing. Deciding to forget about his light-bright ass, I decide to call Zo to talk to him about the photoshoot we were having in about 30 minutes
📞Phone Conversation:
Z: Wassup hoe
M: Watch your language, my son is in the car
Z: My bad but what's up?
M: I was just letting you know that I'm on my way to the photo studio right now
Z: Okay cool, Amara and I are at House of Jade so we're about to leave now
M: Aight bye bestie
Unbuckling Yosohn's car seat, I carry him into the photo studio finding Amara and Zo already sitting inside; "Hey papa" Zo shouts before grabbing Yosohn out of my arms. "Well fuck me then" I say before turning to Amara whose belly was definitely way bigger than the last time I saw her; "Hey mama bear, hey munchkin" I say while bending over to kiss her belly. "Hey bestie, I missed you" she says while hugging me before we walk towards the vanity where Zo hands Yosohn to Amara.
"How's my munchkin?" I ask as Zo starts on my hair. "Munchkin is good, I feel like I've been pregnant for a year but it's only been 20 weeks" she says while chuckling as Yosohn lays his head on her chest; "Girl you better thank that baby cause you filling out perfectly" Zo says causing us to laugh. Finishing off my hair and make-up, I change Yosohn into his outfit before we start our photoshoot, "You so fly you blow my mind, Santana yeah yeah Santana" Zo and Amara sing causing Yosohn to smile at the camera.
I stop by Taco Bell to get some food before heading home cause ya girl been craving Mexican food for a lil minute now. "'Hie, uh can I get regular nachos and 3 soft tacos supreme with a cherry sunset freeze please" I order before paying and exiting the drive-thru. Sighing as I put Yosohn in his crib after arriving home, I look down at him shocked that my baby was turning one tomorrow; it feels like I just had him but I'm glad he's about to start talking to me. Selecting Black-ish I sit down comfortably as I eat my dinner before making sure that everything is set up for Yosohn's party tomorrow. I haven't been talking to East all day, only cause I've been really busy so he's been blowing me up; speaking of the devil I notice him trying to Facetime me.
M: Hey baby
E: (looks at the screen before continuing to roll up his blunt)
M: I know you ain't call me just to give me the silent treatment Easton
E: (blows out smoke) Why you stay trying me?
M: You know it ain't even like-
E: Don't give me no bullshit excuses, you ain't see my messages?
M: I did but I was just-
E: You like when I don't talk to you all day?
M: Stop cutting me-
E: Answer me Mia
M: No but you know-
E: Right so Ion wanna talk to you about this no more
M: Okay fine East, you done?
E: Don't catch an attitude with me, how was your day?
M: Long, you know I gotta make sure everything good for papa's birthday tomorrow
E: His big ass don't even look like he's only a year old, he damn near as big as Kai
E: Of course, gotta be there for my baby and my youngin'
I spent the rest of the night talking to East before we both fell asleep on the phone, I swear I'm falling for this nigga faster than I wanted to.
☀️Next Morning☀️
"Happy birthday papa" I shout as I grab Yosohn out of his crib before planting kisses all over his face as I lay his on the changing table to change his diaper and night clothes. My son really changed my laugh, I don't know where I would be without him; everything I do is for him and just seeing him grow up makes me emotional. "You ready to eat chunka" I ask as we head down the stairs just as the door bell chimed causing me to open the door seeing Amara and Zo.
"Happy birthday papa" they both shout making him burst out in laughter. "You so goofy papa" Amara says while taking him from me as I prepare his breakfast; "How you feeling today?" Zo asks knowing how emotional I get about my son. "You already know I cried this morning when I woke up but I can't to see him grow" I reply as I pour some almond milk into his bottle.
Changing into my Fendi fit, I finish off my make-up before going into Yosohn's room where Amara and Zo are dancing with him as 'Baby Shark' making me laugh out loud. "You too grown for this" I say as I pack his diaper bag before we head out on our way to the venue for Yosohn's party. Parking in front of the building I notice all of the cars parked outside as well before zeroing in on Dave's black Range Rover. "Hie my baby, happy birthday chunka" my mom says as she unbuckles him getting him out of his car seat; "Hey ma, I'm just going to get Dave just wait for me here" I let her know going towards his car.
He opens his door as I get closer; "Wassup gorgeous" he says as he pulls me into a kiss followed by a hew pecks; wiping my lip gloss off of his lips "Hey papa, you good?" I ask as he jumps out of the car. Kairi squeals once she sees me before jumping into my arms and hugging my neck, "Hey cutie" I say as we head towards my car. I watch as Dave hugs my mom before he grabs Yosohn who extends his hands towards him; "You can't just be one Yo, you so big man" he says while throwing him into the air causing him let out a fit of giggles.
"Hey papa, happy birthday" Herb says as he walks towards Yosohn and I before taking him from me; "Damn Mia you did your shit with this one" he tells me as he looks at the décor in the room. "Well, you know I'd do anything from my child" I say before walking towards my best friends. Despite all the other shit Herb has put me through, one good thing I can say about him is that he takes care of his child. He has been apart of Yosohn's life from day one; he doesn't miss a doctor's appointment or a day of his time with papa. Watching how they interact makes my anger towards Herbert lower slightly but I still don't like that slimy sleaze ball.
"I need to kick his ass already?" Zo asks while glaring at my child's father. "Nah, you know I can only stand him for so long" I reply before looking around for East; feeling his hands wrap around my waist I turn around before looking up at him "You good? That nigga talking out his ass again?" he asks referring to what happened yesterday. "Nah we cooling, today is about Yosohn only" I say as we walk off mingling with the guests and checking on the kids.
"So you brought your corny new nigga to my son's party?" Herb asks me causing me to roll my eyes. "Herbert if I'm not mistaken your bird is around here somewhere" I say while looking at him; "Ion care I told you before to keep your niggas away for my child" he shouts drawing some people's attention. I can feel my anger rising as I keep looking at him, "Yo, watch how you talk to her, better come correct boy. My name's East and you better get used to being in his life cause I'm not about to leave his mother" East says as he raps his arm around my waist protectively. "Herbert leave Mia alone, this is your son's birthday. You treated her bad so let her move on from you" his mother says before grabbing his hand and dragging him away.
"Happy birthday to you Yosohn" we sing as we stand around his cake; seeing him smile makes all the drama worth it. I kiss his cheek as the song comes to an end; "I wanna thank you all for coming to Yosohn's first birthday. This lil boy is bad as hell but I'm so happy to be his mommy. This first year of life has changed my life for the better. Thank you for choosing me papa, mommy loves you" I say as I wipe away my tears.
Looking around, I meet East's eyes as he smiles at me causing butterflies to fill my stomach confirming my fears; I'm falling for Easton Brewster.
