Jennie POV
I grab the keys to the apartment barely keeping my eyes open because I was really tired and sleepy. It has been a long and crazy night. I can't wait to throw myself to bed and doze off, luckily I don't have to go to work until noon. My head is killing me so I have to drink as much water as possible before I go inside my room. I don't suffer any hangover in the morning
Technically it was already morning, it's freaking 2:17 am.
I opened the door and first noticed the lights were already open, I remember turning them off before leaving but I may have just imagined it? I took off my heels but noticed an unfamiliar shoe... or I am just hallucinating because I'm currently drunk as of the moment so I did what any drunk person would do ignore it. I went straight to the kitchen and poured myself a glass of water
"Guess you don't really care anymore Lisa" I leaned on the countertop using my hands to support myself as I talked to myself once again. I took a deep breath and turned around, I almost had a heart attack when I saw a tall, thin, short-haired woman stand in front of me
I shook my head aggressively and slapped my cheeks to make sure I wasn't dreaming
"Happy Anniversary Nini" she held out an envelope, my hands started shaking as I made my way towards her. She gave me a small smile as she offers the envelope inviting me to take it from her
"I'm sorry" she almost whispered but a loud slap echoed through the room, she held her cheek as my palm started to feel a tingling sense it also started going red because of the impact
"Fuck you" I hissed shooting daggers at her
"I'm sorry Jennie" her eyes avoiding me, all my feelings suddenly kept rushing in. Anger, frustration, guilt, and disappointment
"Sorry? You left without a word for fucking 6 months and all you can come up with is a stupid sorry?" I scoffed disgustedly at her attempted apology. She tried to grab my hand but I pulled it away
"Did you know I waited for you every single day?" I avoided my gaze at her as tears started rolling down "Every day I wonder if you ever think of me, how I run back thru my memories on why or what was the reason you suddenly left. Did you know I blamed myself? Maybe I was not any help when you needed me" my heart was breaking into pieces I couldn't even look at her. I wanted to shut at her hit her but maybe because of the alcohol and fatigue I didn't have the strength to. I let myself slump on the floor
"You didn't do anything, it was all my fault I'm sorry" she kneeled in front of behaving second thoughts if she should touch me or not but decided on the latter
"I tried my best to be there Lisa, I didn't ask you too much because I didn't want to annoy you but how can understand what's going on if you don't tell me anything. I feel so useless to you right" I burst out crying, it was true.
She finally had the guts to hold me
"I'm sorry. I just didn't want you to worry" I pushed her off, pissed at her reason. It was a lame excuse!
"Worry?! I was worried sick when you disappeared in the middle of the night, can you just stop with your sorry?! If you really are sorry tell me the reason! Make me understand!" I looked at her practically begging her to tell me everything, she shook her head and reached for my hand
"Runaway with me" she smiled, the smile I have been thinking about, the one I was trying to forget. Her brown eyes were still the same, it was still mesmerizing and made my heart race
"What?" confusion is written all over my face
"Let's go far away, start something new. Just the two of us" she wiped the tears off my cheeks as she kept on smiling, her words were very tempting and I miss everything about her
I leaned and reached her face, she's really here in front of me... and I don't want to lose her again
so I nodded and gave her the most sincere smile I gave after 6 months of drowning from sadness. She's after all my everything

It's freezing outside, there was no visible snow but the breeze was cold. I watched people outside from the window going to their work, some heading to who knows where. Switzerland is a very beautiful and peaceful place to live. I have not yet got accustomed to the places around the city of Geneva but gosh it's breathtaking here.
I was lost in thought when a hand suddenly wrapped around my waist, her scent instantly filled my nostrils, her warmth wiped the coldness I was feeling earlier. She leaned her chin on my shoulder. She's taller than me making this position hard for her but she loves doing it still
"Good morning Nini" she whispered near my nape sending shivers all over my body. I turned around to face her a smile plastered on her face, she was already dressed up for the day, she looks so hot wearing a grey suit that shows a little skin from her stomach
I made I face when I saw that she's wearing a cropped white undershirt
"Why is my beautiful girlfriend's face suddenly so scrunched up?" she teased
"It's cold outside but you're wearing that" pointing out her exposed toned abs, well it was not completely visible and I may be overreacting but I don't want people starring at her
"Hon it's not even that cold" she laughed but I pouted and crossed my arms "Come 'er, I've already bought some pastries from the bakery so go get breakfast, I'll try to be back after lunch. Okay? I love you" she gave me a tight hug and kissed my forehead then a quick peck on the lips. Her scent was very intoxicating, I'm addicted to her and the taste of her lips.
"I love you too Lili. I'll be waiting" she lets go of me and headed to the door.
"Wait! Let me walk you outside" I quickly run towards the door and wore my shoe. We headed outside, I noticed that she keeps on glancing at me. She took a few steps down the stairs when suddenly turned around and bit her lips trying to hold a smile as she looks at me
"What?" I asked my eyebrows creased, she just shook her head hiding a smile. She took out her phone and took a picture of me
"Nothing... you're just so beautiful" she waved goodbye and left
I was about to head back inside when my suddenly vibrated, I checked and it was a message from Lisa
"Cutie ❤️"
I felt my cheeks getting hot as I look at Lisa who was a few steps away from me but smiling like a dork. My heart fluttered at those simple words and a smile. God I'm so whipped
I went back inside and went straight to the kitchen to find the pastry Lisa bought, I made myself a cup of tea and ate the pastry. It was light and fluffy. I was done eating and cleaning the plates when I finally had the urge to vomit, I ran towards the bathroom and churned everything I just ate. I flushed and brushed my teeth to lose the taste of bitterness on my mouth when I noticed the calendar behind me
"Wow, it's been a month and a half" I whispered to no one when I saw the mark written, Lisa and I are very careful so we always mark the calendar on when I'm fertile and we usually avoid that. it's not that we don't want to start a family but we want to focus on each other's careers first.
But the calendar was marked that I was due to have my period last week. Or maybe I counted it wrong? I always have a regular cycle but it's not impossible to be irregular especially when I was under a lot of stress. So I have nothing to worry about, also Lisa and I always wear protection so being pregnant is far from possible right now.
What am I going to do for today? I changed my clothes and decided to do some basic yoga to get my blood pumping. I don't really have much to do, I don't have a job because Lisa told me that we'll just be staying in Geneva for a while and she wants me to relax. I know some of you are asking how about my job in my dad's company. Well, Lisa and I left so sudden and telling my family where I was and who I'm with, I already know the things they'll be saying soI just chose to keep it from them and disappeared with Lisa. Only Jisoo and Chaeyoung knows our whereabouts and I talk to them from time to time, well most of the time
My phone suddenly rang startling me and losing my focus and inner peace which is very much needed when doing yoga

When I saw the caller id I immediately ignored t and turned the volume off. I didn't want to hear a single nag from him, he might go on full-on berserk and say things that I don't to hear, especially his hateful words towards Lisa
Since we've been here I gathered a total of 165 missed calls and 108 messages from both my parents, I also accidentally answered one of Bobby's call the other day, and how I wish I didn't. He was actually with my dad and I could hear his voice from the background so I guess he's siding with my parents on this one.
Kai has also been non-stop texting and calling me, I feel guilty that I somehow led him on but I also know that I made things clear even before we started hanging out. Just thinking about these things right now stresses me out so I guess Lisa was right I need to relax and enjoy my time

The hours passed so fast that it has not even been a half-day since Lisa returned from her meeting
"Hi hun, how's your meeting?" I asked preparing lunch for both of us as she removed her coat and sat on the stool near the counter
"Good. So whatchu cookin'?" she leaned on the counter eyeing the food I was preparing. I don't know much about her business because she doesn't really want to talk about it. All I know is that her dad asked her to do these errands which at first surprised me but later on I realized that she may have stayed with her parents
"Gamjatang but you should wash up first" I scolded when she tried to grab a piece of potato from the stew. She pouted like a kid and went to our room to get change and wash up when somebody suddenly knocked on our door
"Are you expecting somebody?" she asked her spoon halfway to her mouth as I glared at her, she laughed when she successfully annoyed me, I'm not expecting someone because I don't even know even one person in our neighborhood, even the old man who waters his plants every day.
I stood from my chair and went to the door and see who it was, mails are to delivered thru doors, we have mailboxes, and I didn't order anything so we're also not expecting any packages
I fixed myself wiping some grease off the corners of my mouth before opening and lost had a heart attack
"Eomma!" I stood frozen
"Who is it?" Lisa shouted from the kitchen, when I didn't answer her she went to see for herself
"Ms. Kim!" she bowed her head not standing up, she kept her head bowed down at a perfect 90-degree angle
"Hello Jennie it's been a long time" a voice suddenly spoke behind my mother, a man standing outside, I went running and hugged him
"Uncle!" I greeted the middle-aged man, he smiled at me. He really looks different from years ago, his hair has visible white streaks, he's thin, not like before he was lean. But he definitely looks like oppa, I guess this what he will look like if he ever did got the chance to grow old
"Annyeonghaseyo" Lisa greeted and bowed once again but her face suddenly lost its color, she turned pale, when uncle saw her and they met eyes he suddenly charged inside our apartment and hit Lisa
She dropped on the floor but Uncle didn't stop her proceeded to hit her even if Lisa tried to cover herself as much as possible. When I finally realized what was happening I immediately ran towards them and tried my best to pull Uncle off her
"Fuck you! You son of a bitch!" Uncle shouted rage filled his eyes. I've never seen him like this
"Stop it! Mom stop him!" I shielded Lisa but my mom couldn't even be bothered "Mom!" I called once again and when she snapped out of it she ran outside and called someone
"Chul is beating up Lisa! Get in here!" she called out to someone
"Stop it Uncle! Please!" I tried to push him off but he was really angry as if he could kill. He could kill the girl in front of her
My father suddenly appeared from outside and pulled his friend off
"Pull yourself together Chul!" he shouted holding him on his collar, Uncle somewhat calmed down and stood up wiping sweat, and shook his hands, which would bruise. They kept on arguing in the background but I focused myself on the person most dear to me
I immediately faced Lisa and cried when I saw her lips with blood, a small cut on her eyebrow. She sat on her own as I guided her. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a bag of frozen peas because we don't have any ice, I never thought that we would be needing one
"Are you okay baby?" I fixed the strands of her blocking her face and gently placed the ice pack. She nodded silently as she looks toward the man who just hit her
"Jennie come here" my father called sternly. I looked at Lisa as she nodded signaling me that she's fine
"Hold this for a moment" I kissed her cheek and handed her the ice pack, I walked towards my father. They were still talking but I couldn't help myself but intrude
"What the hell! Why did you hit her uncle?!" I didn't mean to have my voice that loud but I made it clear that I was annoyed. This is supposed to be a normal and peaceful day, we should be outside right now having a long walk, making up for the 6 months that passed but no they had to ruin it! This is the reason why I never wanted them to know where I was, but how did they know?
"Language Jennie" my father warned but I just rolled my eyes and ignored him, this is our house after all so I have the right to say things I want! They were the ones who just barged in uninvited!
"Language?! You all barged in uninvited and started all this! You even hit Lisa!" I scoffed but my mother kept on glancing at my father and my father kept on glancing at uncle
"Why are you all here?" I asked in curiosity, they were acting weird and out of character. My father cleared his throat
"Jennie... princess... your uncle needs to tell you something?" I looked at uncle and raised my eyebrow
"If you're not going to apologize to her first I'm not listening to any of the things you're about to say, Uncle Chul" he squeezed his hands already swollen, he shifted nervously but gained his confidence back when she catches a glimpse of Lisa, anger...not confidence. He clenched his jaw
"That fucking person-" he pointed at Lisa his eyes almost killing her
"Don't ever swear or point at her!" I cut him off slapping his finger away. He's way out of line!
"Jennie have some goddamn respect!" my father scolded, my mother, clenched on my father's shirt like a kid
"How can I give him some respect! He does not even respect my girlfriend!" I argued back, my father couldn't believe his ears that I just embarrassed him in front of his friend
"I'm warning you young lady!" he waved his finger at me warning me to stop
"If you can't respect her just fucking leave this house" I gritted my teeth
"Watch your fucking mouth! The things you learn from that trash!" my father shouted back but the only thing that caught my attention was him calling my girlfriend trash!
"You have no fucking right to call her that!" I didn't think twice and went on to charge him. I pushed him clenching the hems of his clothes "Take that back!" my father is holding my hand stopping me from pushing him any further, he's old but still strong
"Stop it you two!" my father intervened
"Take that back! She's not trash!" I shouted back at him "take it ba-" I started tugging on his clothes crying and shouting at him
"She killed Jung-kook"
the world suddenly stopped moving, the silence was deafening. If a needle suddenly dropped in the middle of the room the sound would echo
"What?" I whispered looking at uncle Chul, his eyes staring at Lisa. I looked at him then Lisa, who I didn't even notice was already standing up, her head bowed down "that's not true" I shook my head aggressively
"She did. Ask her" my father answered back, I let him go and walked towards Lisa still looking at the floor
"Hey baby... hey look at me Lili" I raised her head, tears visible. "That's not true right?" I smiled at her encouraging her to answer me no I didn't but she didn't answer
"Answer me Lili, you don't have anything to do with oppa right?" my voice cracked because she still didn't answer but tears kept on streaming down her face
"You didn't kill him... tell me Lili... you didn't" I kept on convincing myself that it was all a lie but every time I asked her and she doesn't answer it was breaking my heart piece by piece
I suddenly felt a hand wrapped around me as I cried loudly. It was my mother
"She did, that asshole killed him, he killed my son and never paid for it" uncle Chul's voice was like daggers
"What?" I muttered
"Nini I can explain" she walked towards me, she finally managed to talk but I stopped her
"Tell me it's not true Lisa" everyone waited for her answer, every millisecond feels like death
"I'm sorry" was the only words she could answer back, that simple 2 word was the reason for my heart to finally break into its last piece
