"shh baby it okay it okay the nightmare is over," my mom said as she rubbed my back I was drenched in sweat again and my throat hurt from screaming
"there getting worst arent they," she asked me while handing me a glass of water and I gulped it down
"yea I been having them more lately," I said and then looked at the clock to see it was only six-thirty in the morning
"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you, mom," I said as I got out the bed these nightmares are getting worst I been having them since I was fourteen
they went away for while with the help of therapy and sleeping pills and just being away from NewYork but they came back last year I stopped sleeping and eating I became a completely different person I got back to being myself but I'm still not completely myself there is something missing
"it okay honey I was already up are you gonna be okay do you need anything," she asked me and I sighed
"I'm okay mama I don't need anything," I said
"you know honey maybe it will be better if you and august go back to therapy," she said and I scoffed
"I'm not going back to a middle-aged woman who barely can take care of her own problems but yet she wants to sit and listen to others," I said while putting my hair in a ponytail and my mother laughed
"I get it but just think about it okay you need to talk about what happens it not good to keep everything your feeling hidden," she said and I rolled my eyes she sounded like caiden from last night
"I will think about it even it not happened you should get going though I'm sure you a company that needs your full attention before I take over," I said and she laughed
"oh I feel bad for my workers you're gonna give them hell aren't you," she said and I laughed
"oh most definitely bye mama I love you," I said as she walked out the door
'Love you more," she said and closed my door and I went to start working on some homework since I didn't do it last night
once I was finished I took a shower and then picked out an outfit for today I was wearing a tan crop top shirt with blue ripped mom jeans and tan air jordans and I paired it off with a beige bag and glasses
I also added gold necklaces I went to do my hair in a side part and I straighten it and bumped the ends a little I did natural makeup with a bold wing once I was done I grabbed my bag and drove to school
the class went by fast and now I was heading to art
"hey girl," I said as I took my seat next to esmeray
"hey you look cute," she said while looking at my outfit
"thank you I didn't see you in class today where were you," I asked her
"I had to have brunch with my parents so I had to come late," she said and I nodded
"Okay class today we are going to be working on projects you will be working on them with a partner now before you get all excited I'm picking your partners basically i want you to make portraits you will have two weeks to work on these you will spend time with your partner get to know them and then paint what you think of them," the teacher said
"When you finish these portraits you won't show them to the whole class I will take you and your partner in a room and you will show me and your partner what you think about them and then you will explain why you think that," she said I think this project could be fun as long as I don't get some hard to read
she gave everyone there canvas and a paper with our partner name on it
"who did you get," I asked esmeray
"I got the school mean girl Ronnie," she said and rolled her eyes
"I think I might kill her before I actually get to paint her ou maybe I can draw her dead body," she said and I laughed
"anyways who did you get," she asked me and I looked at my paper

"I have caiden," I said and looked over at caiden who was already looking at me with his sexy smirk on his face
"oh good luck he is so hard to read he not exactly an open book," esmeray said and I sighed
"I noticed that," I said while messing with my necklace
the class ended and then we headed to lunch today rowan and caiden sat with us since we sat down and I placed my bag down and then august came up to me with a plate of food
"I'm not hungry," I said and pushed the plate away
"you didn't eat breakfast eat now," he said and I rolled my eyes
"actually you guys dont mind if I steal my sister," august asked and they shook there head and I stood up and walked away from the table
"Is there a problem," I asked him while crossing my arms
"Are you okay," he asked me I dropped my arms
"I heard you screaming I was going to help you but mama got to you first," he said and I sighed
"I'm fine I'm working on it," I said while messing with my ring
"look Cora it gonna get better if I'm being honest your not the only the only one with sleeping problems I dont even remember the last time I got a good night sleep," he said which is true ever since that night august became an insomniac
"I know I hope it gets better soon but until then I just need a distraction," I said while patting his shoulders
"just dont hurt yourself okay and please eat," he said and I smiled
"dont worry about me big bro I'm gonna be fine I love you," I said
"I love you too little sis," he said and patted my head and walked away and I went to sit down
"Everything okay," esmeray asked me
"yup so rowan who is your partner for the art project," I asked him
"I have James," he said and I nodded and started eating after lunch finish we went to the rest of our classes once school was finished I went to look for caiden I saw him standing next to some blonde I walked up to him and the girl he was next to looked me up and down
"um dont you see were in the middle of a conversation it rude to interrupt," the blonde bimbo said and I rolled my eyes
"leave," caiden said and the girl smirked at me
"you heard him leave," she said and caiden glared at her
"I was talking to you leave now," he said and she gasped and stomped her foot and walked away
"um chile anyways so I was just asking you when should we get started on the project," I asked him and he ran his hands through his hair
god I wanted to do that his hair looked so soft
"when can get started today this we just have to hang out right so we can get to know each other," he said and I nodded
"okay well what should we do today," he asked me
"Whatever you want I dont really mind," I said and we walked side by side out the school
"mhm I'm hungry let get some food," he said and walked to his car
"what about my car," I asked him
"We could come back when we're done," he said and i sighed
"fine," I said and walked towards his car when I got in his car his cologne filled the whole car I wasn't complaining he smelled so good
he drove out of the school parking lot and I'm really trying to figure how the fuck does me make driving sexy it should be illegal
I was looking at him the whole time studying his face he was perfect he didn't have any flaws but his flaws didn't have to show on the outside they could be on the inside and I was dying to figure them out
"like what you see," he asked me and I smiled and looked at him more
"mhm I dont know I'm just trying to figure you out," I said as we pulled up to a red light and he locked eyes with me
"can you not drill holes in my face and just ask me the whole point of this project is to get to know each other so we can make a portrait about them I dont think you gonna find out much about me if you keep drilling holes in my face," he said while breaking eyes contact and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding
"Okay tell me something about yourself caiden," I said and I saw the corner of his lips tugged up a little
