just at 11k yesterday omg !!
It had been just about a year since the day at the park. Since then, the three of us had become inseparable, and every single day that I had been with wil, I found myself falling harder and harder for the dear boy. We had began dating just 3 months after that day, and since then I had never felt alone or lost again
The way he did everything he did made my heart ache in a way that I hadn't felt since Theos birth. I was happy to have finally found someone special
I stood in the mirror, flattening the skirt and sweater that I had mindlessly thrown on just a few minutes ago before walking out of the bedroom and down into Theo's room. Standing in the doorway I watched as Theo giggled loudly at the book that Wilbur had been reading to him. The pair threw their heads back, trying to catch their breath before I knocked on the door frame, and the two looked over at me, making me smile
"Are you boys ready to go?"
Wilbur quickly nodded, and stood up, picking the small boy up with him. He walked toward me, and before he walked out, he leaned down, placing a small kiss on my cheek while whispering a quick "you look beautiful"
I blushed brightly, and turned to follow them down the hall of our shared apartment. We walked down into the car park, Wilbur running to my side of the door, opening it before I could get there.
"Thank you love"
He smiled down at me, before rushing to his side and getting in. We began to drive, and as we did, Wil rested his hand on my thigh, and I rested mine atop of his
Today, unlike most of our hangouts, Wilbur had suggested we go somewhere nicer. He had wanted to grab dinner at a restaurant close to our neighborhood, it was a beautiful place, flowers and plants hung from the glass roof and white marble tables sit scattered all through the open floored building.
I held onto one of the small boys hands as wil grabbed onto the other, the two or us walking up to the hostess as we waited for a table.
"Hello, I have a reservation for Wilbur Soot"
The boy smiled at the hostess and she looked down reading her book before motioning for us to follow her. The three of us walked to a small booth near an outdoor pond, and before the host could walk away she sent us a small smile
"You have a beautiful family Mr. Soot, have a lovely dinner!"
Wilbur looked at me with a small smile, as he thanked the waitress and looked over to Theo
"What are you in the mood for bud?"
The small boy gazed over the menu before happily exclaiming
"Chicken tenders!!"
Wilbur and I giggled loudly at the small boy as we looked at the menus and ordered, talking in between the time that we waited for out food. After about 30 minutes our food had arrived and we ate, chatting in between the the meal and then sitting to enjoy the sun lit table once we had finished.
"Wilbur"
The small boy next to me inquired. He had been looking down at a coloring book that the restaurant had provided earlier in the day before randomly speaking
"Yeah Theo?"
"Are you my dad?"
Suddenly, the room felt silent. I could feel my heart beating quicker than ever before, anxiety built in my chest and breathing becoming a struggle
"Theo! Stop th-"
Before I could finish scolding the small boy in embarrassment, Wilbur spoke up
"Would you want me to be Theo?"
Wilbur sat up in his seat, now completely focusing on the two of us who were sat opposite of him
"Well... yeah I guess so..."
The small boy furrowed his brows, not knowing how to answer the almost philosophical question
I could feel my whole body burning in embarrassment as I tried to avoid Wilbur gaze
"Y/N?"
I hesitantly looked up at him, feeling the aching pain slowly subside as I looked into his eyes
"Yeah Wil?"
"Can I be Theo's father?"
It was an odd question, something that I hadn't been expecting. Wilbur and I were still young, barely reaching age 28, but time and time again he was there to take care of Theo and I. Wilbur had mentioned wanting kids, he wanted to grow old and have a big family that he could spoil and love the way that he wished he had always been loved, and that was something that I was more than willing to give him when the time was right.
I stared into his eyes, feeling mine begin to grow glossy as his words set into my mind
"r-really?"
He nodded, the biggest smile on his face as he held his hand out to me, and I placed my hand in his. All I could do was nod, feeling the tears begin to pour out as he stood up and walked toward me. He kneeled down, resting on one knee before pulling a box from his back pocket and leaning forward slightly
"I know it's only been a year, but I'm more than ready Y/N, I want you and Theo more than anything in the whole world, you're my family, you're my light, you and Theo are what I've needed to fill the void... I wanna grow old with you Y/N.. I wanna see Theo grow up and walk down the isle.. this is it. Would you give me the honor of calling you mine until the end of time Y/N?"
I leaned forward, placing my forehead against his before whispering a "yes" against his lips.
we pulled away from each other slowly, the people around us cheering and wishing us well, but I could only see and hear the beautiful boy in front of me.
"I love you wil"
"I love you more Y/N, forever and alw-"
"Does this mean you're my dad now Wilbur?"
The two of us turn slightly, watching as the small boy next to us, smiled brightly
"I am Theo, I finally am"
