george sighed contently as he felt the gentle tickle of a kiss being pressed to his cheek, then one to his other cheek, and he started to giggle. another kiss landed on his forehead, and then dream's performance was punctuated with one more sweet kiss on the lips.

his eyes finally opened to look up at the blonde in front of him, getting a good view of his glowing skin in the sun. his eyes flashed a striking green in the sunlight with a hint of blue, and george was breathless. both of his dainty hands still gripping the larger for support, george asked, "what time is it?"

"6:27. are you hungry?" dream replied after checking his phone with his one free hand, not even willing to attempt to take his right arm away from george's grasp.

"hm, now that you mention it i think so." his head rested once again on dream's shoulder, feeling his cheek squish up against it.

you're my whole world.

that was what dream thought to himself when he felt george's cheek meet his shoulder. his next thought, immediately, was to correct himself.

no he isn't, it's far too early for that. you just like him. a lot.

"i like you." he said without thinking, hardly even realizing he'd said it until george nuzzled harder into him.

"i like you too.." it was small and muffled, the voice that replied, hidden in the fabric of dream's hoodie. he wanted to ask dream to kiss him again, but he didn't have it in him. it was his first kiss that dream had just taken, and he was honestly scared that he was somehow doing it wrong.

"good. i'm trying to think of something we can do for breakfast, i would take you out somewhere if i could, the nicest place possible, but i... i don't have any money. at all." saying the sentence out loud made dream feel weaker than he could even explain. what kind of boyfriend was he ever going to be to george if he never had any money? no gifts to give his darling boy?

"i can pay!" george said it as if it wasn't a big deal, as if it wouldn't shatter dream's entire ego. of course george didn't understand the weight of his words, it was a great idea to him.

"i can take you by somewhere to buy yourself breakfast if you want that, but you're definitely not buying anything for me." he said it with a forced laugh, hoping it would be believable enough.

george watched dream's face, at first in admiration, but soon noticed that there was something wrong. the green eyes seemed glossed over with shame as they looked out at the lake.

"of course i am..." he held dream's arm tighter. "dream, money's not an issue for me, and it's just breakfast. you brought me all the way out here, you've done so much for me already. let me get you breakfast." george spoke still as if it was so obvious, as if it made so much sense and was so okay. this should've reassured dream, but instead it only told the blonde that george just didn't understand.

dream shook his head softly, looking down at his shoes where they sat crossed over each other on the pavement in front of him.

"dream?" george asked softly. when dream looked up at him, he continued, "what's the matter? really?"

as dream thought for a long time, trying to compile all of his thoughts into an answer that made sense, george held onto him tightly. a few random squeezes assured him that george was still there, still waiting, still cared.

"it just makes me feel so pathetic sometimes. i'm sorry. i would get a job, but i can't even focus enough on school as it is. i can't imagine how i'd be doing if i lost those extra hours to work after school, i'd probably get kicked from the team."

"there's no reason to beat yourself up over that, clay, i understand. i don't have a job!" he giggled slightly, nudging his nose against the taller. "i just have daddy's money." he poked fun at himself in hopes that it would raise dream's spirits, which seemed to work at least a bit. "come on, my dad's a little bit of an ass, we can spend his money."

dream laughed now, shaking his head and cracking his knuckles on one hand. he took a deep breath to try and stop himself from overthinking the situation anymore, because he always did when it came to money. "okay. where do you wanna go?"

"mmm what's that pancake place with the silly name?" george looked up expectantly at dream, as if he should know from the limited amount of information.

fortunately, for george, he did. "ihop?"

george nodded enthusiastically. "yes! ihop! i want to go there." he seemed so excited that no amount of overthinking from dream would've justified telling him no.

"okay, sure, that sounds great." he tugged his arm from the boy's grasp and moved to stand up, taking his hand away as well. george was sad at the loss of contact, but he had to admit his hand was getting sweaty and it was nice to stretch his fingers out now.

he followed dream to the car, but before he got in he stopped him in front of the driver's side door with a hand on the wrist. "dream?"

the blonde turned around immediately, of course, smiling softly. "yeah?"

george stepped closer, though nervously, now holding both of the taller's wrists in his hands. "what are we?" he asked, voice soft, looking down at his shoes. speaking softly was something he did often.

"well, what do you want to be? what am i to you?"

george smiled, looking back up and into dream's eyes. the taller was facing the sun, and seeing his face shine in it head on was breathtaking. "my dream boy, of course."

dream scoffed, blushing and laughing at the corny joke. he interlaced every one of his fingers with george's, holding both of his hands. "sure, dream boy and his twink."

george wanted to laugh because of the way dream seemed entertained, but he just didn't understand. "what's a twink?"

dream giggled and shook his head, both at george's cluelessness and his own stupidity. he had ruined the moment by saying it in the first place, and of course george didn't know what twink meant. where would he have ever heard twink before in his life?

"it's- it's like a-" he sighed deeply. "don't worry about it."

george had red cheeks, he felt a bit dumb, letting his head fall into dream's chest. dream seemed to have a thing for ruining moments by trying to be funny, which he felt bad for, so he tried to just shift back to the original conversation.

"do you want to be my boyfriend, george?"

"... are you offering?"

dream chuckled at the question coming from his chest. "yes, i am."

"yeah. i want that a lot."

"well then, that settles it." he rested his hand against george's head where it still laid against his chest.

they stayed like that for a while, george taking a deep breath and thinking long and hard. his boyfriend. clay, his big 6'3 blonde haired green eyed football player boyfriend.

"dream?"

dream hummed.

"can you kiss me again?"

dream was happy to comply to his boyfriend's wishes, backing away to see the smaller boy looking straight up at him with doe eyes. he had to lean down a bit further than comfortable to reach the boy's lips, and george's neck stretched to reach his as well. george wrapped both of his arms around dream's lower torso as the kiss lasted longer than the other ones. their first kiss as boyfriends. the thought made george smile wide, which ended up ruining the kiss. dream matched george's smile when he felt it, pulling away and giving him a questioning look.

"what?" he cocked his head.

"i'm just so glad that you're my boyfriend."

dream threw his head back, smile growing even wider at the words george spoke. when he looked back down, he put both of his large hands on either side of george's face and kissed him again.

he kissed him hard, with nothing but sweet affection. they both smiled into it, george even giggling, but dream held the kiss until both of the smiles faded and kissed him even longer after that. he decided in that moment that he never wanted to not be kissing george.

although that was all he wanted, he eventually pulled away, dropping his hands from george's face to his sides.

"ihop?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. george nodded, walking over to the passenger seat and getting in.

"oh! i have a song!" george said as dream started to pull out of the parking spot, reminded by the music playing on the speakers.

"have at it." dream said with a smile, handing his phone over to george.
