"Gardening isn't that hard," Katie laughed.
"Easy for you to say! You're a daughter of Demeter and your last name is literally Gardner," you complained.
"Okay, but there's no way you're telling me you've never kept a plant alive for longer than a week."
"I'm telling you I've never kept a plant alive for longer than a week," you deadpanned, and Katie huffed in frustration.
"Fine. I'm gonna teach you how to keep it alive for longer." She stood up, and you pulled her back down.
"Tomorrow?"
"Now."
"Later?"
"Now."
"In ten minutes?"
She sighed. "In five minutes." She sat back down next to you and pulled your head onto her lap.
"What're you doing?" you asked her.
"Your hair's softer than mine and I wanna play with it," she said.
"Oh, okay," you said, and since the sun was in your eyes, you closed them. When you opened them again, you felt like a cat that had been laying in the sun.
"Wow, way to dodge activites," said Katie, impressed. "Maybe I should try it." You laughed.
"You're not mad?"
"No," she said. "But I'm never gonna give you 'five more minutes' again, 'cause that was two hours."
