Summary: Michael picks a day to confess his feelings to Jeremy, and soon that day comes. Fluff ensues.

As Michael's eyes fluttered open, he quickly rolled out of bed and checked the calendar hanging of his wall next to the window.
March 31st.
March 31st.

Michael's breathing hitched, the realization hitting him at full force. Today was the day he had chose to confess to Jeremy. Michael began to panic.

What if he rejects me and I ruin our friendship forever?
What if he's not even gay and I'm just going to make him feel awkward?
Why did this day come up so fast?

A million thoughts circled in Michael's head, but he shook them out. He was going to confess today. He had been planning it all month. He was not going to back down now.
He went into the bathroom and stared hard at himself in the mirror. Over and over, he practiced his speech. He had memorized it a few days prior.
"Jeremy, I like you, and I need you to know that. You're my best friend, and I love that, but I can't go on like this. I-" Michael stopped. To his horror, his Mama was standing the doorway, smirking. When she saw Micheal's face, she began to laugh.
"Mama..." He began.
"Micha, what are you doing?" She asked, leaning on the door frame. Michael sighed.
"I... I chose today to confess to Jeremy and I'm not prepared at all." He answered honestly. His Mama smiled softly.
"Just be yourself. Don't over do it, just tell him straight up." She advised.
"But Mama, what if-" She cut him off by cupping his face and squeezing his cheeks.
"Don't worry about the what if's. You got this." She said, finally letting go of his face.

Michael: Hey u wanna meet at the mall?

Jeremy grinned.

Jeremy: Ofc, see you in 10?
Michael: Yeah

When Michael arrived at the mall, he set off to the food court, searching for their table.
Every time they met at the mall, they always met up at a certain table in the food court, right next to the hot dog stand. Soon enough, he saw Jeremy. Deep breaths.
"Hey Jere!" Michael exclaimed, sitting down across from Jeremy. He looked up from his phone with a grin.
"Michael! How ya been?" He asked.
"Good," Michael paused, remembering what he was there to do. "... I guess."
Jeremy cocked his head to the side. "You guess?"
"Yeah."
"Well, tell me what's wrong."
And just like that, Michael went into panic mode again. He fidgeted with his thumb and pointer finger.
"I... um..." Remember your speech!
Jeremy, I like you. "Jeremy... uh..."
Just say it! "Um..."
Jeremy sat in confusion, before Michael finally looked up from his lap, tears welling in his eyes.
"Jeremy! I like you. A lot. I've wanted to tell you for so long but I couldn't because I was scared and-" Michael finally let out a sob. Jeremy sat there for a moment, astonished by what had just happened. But then he realized that Michael was crying, and he had to do something. He moved from his seat to the one next to Michael.
"Micha! Hey, hey, it's okay, calm down..." Jeremy whispered softly. Michael looked up and into his eyes. He didn't say anything, but Jeremy could tell he was waiting for an answer.
"Michael..." Jeremy began. Michael shut his eyes tightly. He just knew he was going to get rejected.
"... can I kiss you?" Jeremy finally said. Michael opened his eyes.
"What?" He asked in amazement. Jeremy chuckled.
"You heard me. Can I kiss you?" He repeated. Michael nodded.
Jeremy leaned in, their noses bumping. They both laughed, before Michael closed the gap between them.

And from that point on, March 31st became their new favorite day.
