Juniper
Heights. I hate heights. I look up at the tall buildings that surround the train, as it passes by. The train to Toronto stops and I get out. Okay, this is a big opportunity for me. They finally accepted me into their college. I am so nervous, I don't have any friends here and I don't know who to trust.
“Lily wanted me to call her when I got here, so I should call her now” I remind myself
I take out my phone and call her
“Hi, this is the best friend of a Juniper bush.” I hear Lily's voice on the other end
“Hi, Lily pad. I made it to Toronto” I answer
“Yay! The beginning of your new life! Please, don’t forget me when you make new friends”
“I would never forget you. You are my best friend.”
“Aww, I love you! Sorry, I have to drop off Chris. Love you, again”
“Love you too, bye” I say as she hangs up her phone. Her boyfriend really needs to get a car.
I start my trek towards the housing area, for students. In the paper that I was given it said that my residence is a shared house with two other girls and three boys. It is one of the houses around the end of the street. As I slowly walk down the street I look around the area. I see trees, people, birds and the buildings for all of the diverse classes students, like me take.
I finally get to the house that I will be living in for the duration of my time here. I walk up the steps with my two bags and I ring the doorbell.

Daniel
Someone rings the doorbell. I don’t get up, it is never anything that relates or will ever impact me.
“I’ll get it!” Jullie yells. Of course, she loves people and people love her.
I hear the door open and Jullie welcoming the person at the door.
“Hi! Welcome, what brings you here?”
“Hi, this is house 145 right?” A female voice responded
“Yep, do you know someone here? I can call them for you”
“Um, no. I think that I am your new roommate. My name is Juniper"
I look down the hallway and see the person who the voice belongs to. It was a girl who looked around my age and was shorter than me.
“Oh! So you must be the student that Mme. Roth was talking about. Well, welcome to your new home, I am Jullie. After you are situated I will introduce you to your other roommates.”
“Thanks, where will I be staying?” Juniper asked.
“Upstairs, the first room on your left.”
“Thank you.”
“Oh, one more thing. The bathroom is right in front of your room. Don’t worry, upstairs is for girls and downstairs is for the boys.” Jullie finished.
Juniper goes upstairs with her two big bags.
“Well, I guess we have a new female roommate,” I mumble to myself.

Juniper
I put my stuff in my room and go to the washroom to freshen up. After I am done, I go downstairs to see Jullie and four other people in the living room. Jullie notices me and calls out to me.
“Juniper! Come over here, I want to introduce you to everyone.” She pulls me towards the group of three near the couch.
“This is the new roommate I was talking about,” Declares Jullie as she gestures to me. I wave at everyone
“Hi, I am Juniper.”
“Hi, I am Sage. This is my girlfriend, Sara. She also lives here, and the goth looking guy here is Daniel. Also, the owl on Daniels shoulder is Scout” A muscular man says as he wraps his arm around a petite girl and with his other hand ruffles the hair of a pale skinny kid wearing black, who must be Daniel. There is a barn owl on his shoulder, that must be Scout.
“Nice to meet all of you,” I say, as I stand awkwardly in front of the group. Jullie, thankfully comes and pushes me towards another boy. This one is sitting by himself and playing on his phone.
“Hey, Nolan. Say, hi to our new roommate,” Jullie says, as she continues to push me towards him.
“Hi, I am Nolan. Don’t expect me to be your friend” The boy said, his face in shadows.
“Well, that is everyone. I will go make some food. Why don’t you all watch something on the TV?” Jullie says as she starts for the kitchen. I follow her into the kitchen.
“Do you need any help?” I ask, not wanting to sit awkwardly in the living room. I hear the TV turn on, in the next room.
“No, it is fine. You can go and rela..” she is interrupted by someone yelling from the living room.
“Get over here! Something is going on!” I realize that it was Nolan who said it.
“What do you mean, something is going on?” Jullie asks, as we go into the living room.
“I mean something bad is happening outside. Something big” Nolen replies, motioning to the TV. We stand beside him and watch the TV.
