The pain finally started to subside. I tried to move my legs. They hurt, but at least they moved. Same went for my arms. I groaned as I somehow able to sit up. When I opened my eyes, I didn’t see the room. I didn’t see Greagoir, Irving, or any of the templars. Instead I was outside, under a red and orange sky. The ground was hard as stone, but was brown like earth. There were disturbing statues around and the air was unnaturally cold. There were a couple random stuff scattered around, but there was no one in sight.

“So this is the Fade, huh?” I asked myself as I looked up into the red splotched sky. I stayed like that for at least a couple minutes before I decided to move on. I uneasily managed to stand up, despite the fact that I could barely feel my legs, and after a little while, I was able to walk again.

I decided to raid the few things that were scattered around. Surprisingly enough, I found a few health poultices in a vase. It didn’t take me long to look around, mainly because there wasn’t much to see. There was only one path. Forward. Into some ruins of some kind, but they looked somewhat familiar.

“Oh, this must be the black city!” I announced aloud. The black city was mentioned in both the chant of light and in my studies. So now I know where I am, but where I’m going is the major question. Another one is what to do if I run into the demon. I don’t have a staff yet, and even if I did, I don’t think I can bring it into the Fade. Can I? Hmm, I’ll ask Irving when I’m done with all this. If I finish this. The big “if”. I suddenly realized what I was thinking. In response, I shook my head and slapped my checks.

“Positive. Think positive.” I told myself. “If I do this, I can rub it in Greagoir’s face. That’ll be funny to see. Ok! I have a goal! I will get out of here!” After my little self-pep talk, I walked down the path, a new goal of seeing Greagoir’s face when I return was motivating me. I had a few run in’s with a few wisp wraith’s but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. I could practically see Jowan here, trying to figure what every single thing in this place was or where it came from. I couldn’t stop from laughing at the thought.

“It’s strange to see someone laughing here.” a sad little voice suddenly stated. I stopped walking and looked around. There wasn’t a single living thing as far as the eye can see.

“Down here.” The voice called. This time, it sounded like it was right under me. I looked down and saw a large brown mouse looking up at me. I knelt down to get a better look at the tiny creature.

“So…you can talk.” I stated flatly. The only weird thing of this was the fact that this didn’t surprise me. The longer I stayed here, the easier it was for me to accept this.

“That doesn’t surprise you, does it?” the little mouse asked. I shook my head and touched the mouse’s soft, furry head.

“Guess you are real…to me anyway. What are you doing in a place like this?” Suddenly, there was a large cloud of smoke. I had to stand up so I didn’t breathe it in, but that didn’t help. I ended up breathing some of it in and started coughing like crazy. I was half-expecting the little mouse to be some kind demon, but a human man stood in front of me instead. I coughed a few more times before I could speak again.
