My life was normal; too normal. I was an average person that didn't want to be. I took walks everyday with my friend and her dog, I worked at a video game store, and I wanted change. All I wanted was something different. Boy, did I get exactly what I wanted...and more.
Amy and I were chilling at the dog park, letting her dog, Henry, run around.
"Avery, if you want change so badly, then do something different. You don't have to keep things consistent."
"I know, but I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?"
A smirk grew on her face. "Well, my good friend, Scott Cawthon, just made a new game. It is going to come out tonight at 11:30. You could try it out!" She seemed too excited about this game. I do love video games...
"I guess I could try it out. What's it called?"
"Five Nights at Freddy's. It's a horror game."
Oh God, a horror game. I mean, it's worth a shot. "Alright, I'll play it tonight. It's not like I have anything better to do."
We packed up our things, got Henry, and started walking back to our houses. I couldn't stop thinking of this new game. I wonder what it's about? I've played horror games, but none that sound this terror inducing.
I waved goodbye to Amy and Henry and went inside my house. I had a lot of time before the game released, so I decided to call up my cousin, Bryce.
"Hey, Bryce. I'm bored. Can you come over to play lacrosse with me?" Please say yes, please say yes.
"Yeah, sure. I'm not busy at the moment. I'll be there in ten."
"See you then." I hung up and grabbed my stick. While I waited, the game came to mind again. Why was it such a big deal? What made her think this could give me an adventure? I want action, not virtual horror!
As soon as Bryce got here, we played catch for a little bit. Then he said, "What's on your mind?"
I snapped out of it and looked up at him. "What? Huh- oh. Nothing."
I can tell he didn't believe me. "No, there's something. Just tell me, I'll listen."
Frankly, I don't know what's wrong with me. I have this feeling that I've never felt before. I can't describe it, but it's there. "Well, there is this game that I really want to play, but I just can't wait. It comes out tonight."
"Is that it? Well, I guess I can keep you busy till then. We can keep playing lacrosse, or we can go out to dinner, your choice."
"I'm starving, let's go to Tony's Pizza." We got in his car and went to fill our stomachs. We were seated and silent until the waiter came up to us.
"Hello, my name is Freddy and I will be taking care of you today." Why does his name have to be Freddy? I don't know if I can take this much longer!
I ordered a root beer and we got a cheese pizza to share. Bryce noticed my fidgeting. "What is it now?"
"The game is called Five Nights at Freddy's and the waiter reminded me of how eager I am to play it." It was the truth.
"Alright, well, when we are done, I'll drop you off so you can wait for the game, if that'll make you happy."
And he was right. He dropped me off and I waited ever so patiently for 11:30. I had already pulled up the page to download the game, waiting for access.
11:26, 11:27, 11:28, 11:29,.... The suspense is killing me!!! And... 11:30! I quickly refreshed the page and downloaded it. Well great, now I have to wait for it to finish downloading! Oh my God!
Finally, it finished and I clicked right on the game. I felt a bit dizzy, but not enough to bother me. I frantically clicked play, not looking too deep into the details of what I was supposed to be doing. As soon as I hit play, my dizziness increased and I felt a bit nauseous. And as quick as I clicked play, everything went black.
