Chapter 3: Grand Opening

Start from the beginning

"Real enough for you!?" You shouted, twirling in the air.

Kids cried out as you flew above them, you were kind of limited because there was a roof on the tent, but that didn't stop kids from laughing and trying the grab your wings, you never really interacted with kids before, the only kids you ever met were the ones in heaven...and that wasn't fun thinking about how they got there, but down here, theses were child Imps, demons who did nothing wrong and we're just born here.

"I touched it!" One of the kids shouted, indeed you did feel their hand brush against you wing flying over them.

You landed back on the stage, bowing to the crowd then disappearing behind the curtains, Fizzarolli was counting money happily.

"That was FANTASTIC! Keep it up and you'll be out of here in to time, maybe I could use some of the money for better advertising?" He separated a small bit of cash, doing math in his head.

"Sure, but now that it's all done, we still have another problem." He tugged on the red thread, Fizzarolli glanced down at his own hand.

"I forget it was there I'm going to be honest, it didn't effect us in anyway...maybe I could go to the library to see what they have on something like this."

"Can I come?" You asked, he shook his head.

"Not until I get better... protection, as I said, people would gladly hunt you for sport down here."

"Right, god no wonder you people are down here."

"Most of us in this circle did nothing wrong, isn't that want everyone wants? Enough money to live a happy life, wanting more isn't bad."

"But wanting to much is." You corrected him.

"Why though?" He looked up from the thread to you, it seemed like a genuine question.

"Well..."

"Or do you just follow up rules based on what they tell you?" Fizzarolli laughed, playing with the bell that hung from his head.

You didn't have an answer, Fizzarolli giggled, his voice deeper than usual.

"Figures, not even the Angel has an answer for me. If I really wanted to, do you think I would be allowed in heaven for helping you?"

"I'm not sure...I've never heard of a demon being reabilitated, it seems like a frivolous idea, although this place doesn't seem like much of a punishment." You gestured around you, Fizzarolli's smiles dropped, and he sighed.

"Trust me...it is."

You were sitting in the dressing room quietly reading to yourself, you messed with the thread from your hand every once in a while, it was sort of helpful to know where Fizzarolli was, but you wondered if this would have any repercussions in the future. A knock at the door jolted you up, Fizzarolli opened the door, smiling at you.

"I can feel you playing with the string." He tugged on it, it sent a small light shock to your finger, nothing hurt, just a little something to let you know he pulled on it.

"Yeah, I'm stressed." You mumbled, putting your book down.

"Let's get your mind off it, I run the park anyway, want to go on a ride? I'm pretty sure I can start the Ferris wheel."

Before you could say anything, he grabbed your hand, connecting both red threads, he pulled you along, running around the dark theme park. Some of the lights were still on, lighting up the park slightly, the carousels music was still playing, creating a calm atmosphere.

Fizzarolli quickly started the Ferris wheel up, a light 80s jazz song with an updated techno version started playing, Fizzarolli happily hummed along to it, tapping his finger on the console in rhythm. You spotted a pillow and blanket in one of the cars.

"Have you been sleeping in the ferries wheel?" You turned to Fizzarolli z he sighed.

"Yes, I have an apartment a while away, but I wanted to stay at the park to make sure it was running ok, and then you came along, so now here I am."

"You don't have to sleep in the Ferris wheel." You sighed, not knowing how to respond "You can stay in the dressing room with me."

"Don't you like your privacy?"

"For what? I wear the same clothes everyday." You laughed, Fizzarolli giggled "Ok, but only because you allowed it."

He stopped the Ferris wheel, and opened one the carts for you, bowing slightly, you scoffed.

"Come on." You grabbed his hand, tugging him inside the car as well, he giggled maniacally.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah come on!"

He rolled his shoulders nervously, but hopping in anyway, extending his arm, he pushed a button on the console, the Ferris wheel started moving again, taking you two with it.

"I didn't know you could do that!" You pointed to his arm.

"There's a lot about me you don't know." He ran his finger across the door to the car, taking the thread with him, he sighed and stared out the window.

"Like what? Or is this a guessing game?"

He laughed, turning back to you.

"No, don't even try, you're a little to pure to be down here. I'm surprised Lucifer himself hadn't stormed over here just because of your presence."

"He can sense that!" You exclaimed, flapping your wings, you accidentally smacking Fizzarolli, he sputtered, one of your feathers got into his mouth, he shoved you gently, moving your wings.

"Be careful with those!" He coughed, pulling a feather out of his mouth.

"Sorry! I shed when I'm nervous." You mumbled, grabbing a feather mid air and throwing it out of the car.

"Try not be nervous to much, feathers float and fly, they could go anywhere."

"It's hard alright! Having these things isn't exactly easy."

"It was probably easy being in heaven.." he sighed.

"Not really, so many rules to follow, only being able to pair certain people, can't be to much of this or that." You started going on about the rules, Fizzarolli laughed sadly.

"You amaze me about how much you don't know what goes on down here." He giggled sadly, he seemed to be really down.

"What's wrong?" You asked him, wrapping your wing around him, pulling him away from the edge of the cart and towards you.

".... it's...everything..."
