It had been 3 hours and the team was working so hard to find Maeve. You began walking to your desk but saw Spencer sitting in Hotch's office all alone. You decided the go in 

He was sitting on the couch.

"Hey Spence" you said touching his shoulder and sitting down next to him

"Y/n no" he jerked away

"No?" you search his eyes

"Maeve is out there and you are coming in here like-" you cut him off

"Spencer I would never I am here because I am still your friend" you sat down and held your hand out to hold his

"I know how much you love her and I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you right now... I know we are trying to push what we have away but I am still your friend and I still care about you" 

He gripped onto your hand and started choking back tears "I can't lose her"

"And you won't" you said squeezing his hand "Now when was the last time you slept"

"No I can't sleep I just can't I need to think I need-" 

"Spencer listen you have gave us all the information you have and I promise I will wake you up as soon as we have something" you pulled him into a hug

He held onto you tightly. Lightly sobbing and slowly laying his head on your lap. After a couple of minutes he fell asleep while you were playing with his hair. Emily came into the room with a file. She pulled up a chair and sat in front of you

"How is he" she sighed

"Not good" you frowned

"No one would be" she held up a file "I need an extra set of eyes"

She handed you the file

"Yeah what am I looking at" you took the file and opened it

"Look at the notes Maeve got" 

You read them and slowly connected the pieces

"Not only was she being threatened Maeve was being stalked... by a women" you said flipping pages

"That's what I thought but I thought Maeve decided to take a long break from work so who was she interacting with to cause this type of behavior" 

"Wait what if this was the reason she took a break" you kept looking through files "She didn't know who was stalking her but maybe she had the feeling that it was someone related to her work" 

"In the unsubs eyes Maeve probably insulted her work and decided to punish her" you looked up at Emily

"Okay should we wake him" she looked at a peaceful Spencer laying on your lap

"Not yet, have Garcia look through the all the thesis Maeve was reviewing... the unsubs work should most likely relate to her past so have her get background checks as well" 

"Alright" she said getting up "I'll let you know when we have something" 

She walked away. You leaned back thinking about Spencer. Not about how you felt for him. But how much you wanted to see him happy again. And that meant getting Maeve back. You placed a small kiss on his cheek and watched him sleep for half an hour. Then you got a text from Emily having a location

"Spence" you lightly tap on Spencer "Wake up we found something"

He quickly sat up rubbing his eyes "What is it" 

"A location" you taking taking his hand

"Really?" he smiled pulling you up into a tight hug "Thank you"
