What happened that night was unavoidable. Everything that happened had to happen. There was no way to stop what was coming. Or was there?

After all, that chain of terror was triggered by one beat of a butterfly's wings. But what was the butterfly effect that started it all?

Was it the reunion at the Washington Lodge? Was it the death of the Washington sisters? The prank?

Or did it start many years ago in 1952 in the Blackwood Sanatorium?

In the room on his left, Ashley just woke up from a deep night's sleep. She didn't think she would sleep the night through, but her exhaustion helped her release all the tension and unwanted thoughts.
