lock and key

bottle up that rage

hide your sadness

put it all in that bottle where your heart used to be

keep it sealed,

locked up tight,

keep it from opening with all your might

the only time I let it show

I'm alone

while I cry into my pillow

while I scream at a wall

while I brood and wish and hope,

I'm alone.

pretend it doesn't hurt

make them think it doesn't crush you

inside.

sometimes I just want to let it go

just let the tears flow

keep my heart under lock and key

never let them see

the real me.
