Chapter 7

I don't remember falling asleep but I know I am dreaming when I see dad. "Mags," is all he has to say "Dad!" I yell as I try to run to him but I can't. I. Can't. Move. I jerk my legs forward but they won't budge "Mags? Mags!" Dad yells his eyes locked on me. "Dad!" I scream back at him, instead of looking at me, he is looking at something behind me with horror etched across his face. I don't even look behind me I feel the ice-cold breath whisper on the back of my neck the ice-cold skin hard as granite. I don't want to look into the pitch-black eyes that will soon turn red when he kills me. I look into the eyes of my father the calming blue of the horizon between the ocean and the sky. His eyes fill with tears for his only daughter, my mom I never knew she died when I was very young, but I still can remember her face. She always had a calm caring deminer, she was killed by the god damned bloodsuckers. "NO!" dad screams before I feel the teeth sink into my skin followed by the fire. I wake up to Jared shaking me with a very concerned expression on his face. "It's ok," he tells me rubbing my back, I am only then aware of the tears and the ache in my vocal cords. "I'm sorry," I tell him as I sit up and wipe my tears "It's fine, do you want to talk about it?" he asks like Jacob did except less demanding. I shake my head afraid that if I talk the tears will come again. 

I clean myself up before I walk out of my room, once I am out I go first to Emily. Over the time I have lived here she is like my big sister. I go over and immediately wrap my arms around her in a hug. She hugs me back without question and smiles down at me "I think I'll go for a walk," I tell her with a small nod of the head as confirmation for myself. "Okay," she tells me with a small smile before she turns back to what she was cooking. I walk out the door and take a deep breath of the cold, crisp air. I am too scared to change into wolf form that Sam, Paul, and Jared will see my thoughts. I start to jog and decide to go to Forks, I love feeling the wind it reminds me of the time dad took me to Alaska. I loved the Aurora Borealis the feel of snow and wind, my element. I push the thoughts aside as I feel the painful ache again. I stop to catch my breath about halfway there, I look around at what is surrounding me. It's all green, how I long to see all white again with the occasional dark green of pine trees. I keep running pushing the pain away, when I reach town I slow down. I start to walk down the streets, some people look over at me when I pass. I know I look different than them, my skin is a little darker, my face and features for defined. My clothes and hair are different too. I chopped my hair and dyed it, my clothes are not appropriate for this weather. I untie my yellow flannel shirt and put it over my arms to act like the temperature is only hitting me now. I find a diner and walk-in and go over the stools when the woman behind the counter walks over to me. "How can I help you?" she asks me with a small smile "I'll have poutine and a Coke," I tell her with a smile as I pass back the menu. She marks my order down on paper and gives her head a nod and walks away. I reach into my pocket and pull out my phone. (Normal-Leah Bold-Maggy)

I sigh, Sam didn't prohibit me from seeing Leah. My drink arrives as I put my phone away and wait for Leah. When she sees me she smiles bigger than I have ever seen since Sam left her for Emily. "Maggy!" she says as she comes over and gives me a hug "Haven't seen you in forever!" she tells me as she sits down on the stool next to me. "How have you been?" I ask her as I turn to face her, she makes a face "Fine for now," she looks over at me. "How have YOU been?" she asks me more interested in my life "Nothing much,"  I tell her with a shrug of my shoulders trying to avoid the question. 

Once Leah leaves  I wait about 2 minutes before I leave also. After I am outside I pop in my Galaxy Buds.
