The people gathered to sing “Silent Night”
Their candle wicks were flickering
Thoughts were racing through their minds
That left their souls trembling
In this small town
Innocence was lost today
Faces now have grim smiles
All of their hearts are dismayed
Angels gathered among them
They also felt the loss and hurt
They sang a mourning hymn
Though they can’t be heard
The prayers the people pray
The angels carry to Christ
At His feet they will lay
The prayers as tears fill their eyes
