"I love you too."
He mused,

We sat in silence, finishing up our notes.
Professor Bathsheda granted us free period with the last 15 minutes of class,

"How was your summer with Diggory?"
Leaning on his desk, crumpling up his papers.

"It was alright, nothing new."

"How'd your parents react to Sirius Black escaping Azkaban?"
I looked at him, confused.

"I'm sorry...?"
He shot back up, smiling with amusement.

"Don't tell me you didn't know..?!"

"I-- I'm sure Amos said it somewhere along the lines...?"
I shrugged,

OH... I just remembered it now..

"Well, you're lucky. My parents almost didn't let me attend this year,"
Taking a book of the shelf, he began flipping through the pages.

Not long after, Hermione Granger asked if she could be the one reading the book.

"Sure, go ahead. Wasn't that interesting anyway..."
The little girl smiled as she sat back down, her nose in a book as always.

Professor Bathsheda dismissed us and we all got up,
"Oh! And Ms. Bryce? Please wait for a minute, I'd like to have a word with you."

I waved Eddy goodbye, as everyone went out.

Leaving me and Professor alone.

"How are you, Ms. Bryce?"

"I'm well, Professor.."
She hummed, her quill moving rapidly.

"I suppose you don't mind taking this to Professor McGonagall?"
I received the folded paper.

"These are the permission slips I had gathered today."

"Thank you, Ms. Bryce."
Handing me a late slip,

"Here, just in case you're late for Professor Lupin's class."
I smiled,

I walked down the hall, passing by a rush of students from the DADA classroom.

Hearing their hushed murmurs about boggarts, Professor Snape and a dementor.

Curiosity got the best of me and I peek in the classroom. Seeing Professor Lupin sitting down, a little stressed.

"Good morning Professor."
He took his feet off the table, startled.

"Oh, hello Ms. Bryce. You're a little early than most,"
He looked around, pointing out I was the first to arrive.

"Well, I expected to be late. I was the last one to be let out of last period,"
I took a seat at the front.

Soon after, students came and slowly filled the classroom, Viridian sitting next to me.

"Have you seen Eddy today?"
She asked,

"We had Ancient runes earlier, why?"
She shrugged, shaking her head.

"Good morning class! Now, as you may all know, my name is Professor Lupin."
He briefly introduced himself and began teaching,

Seeing him teach on a fun and fast paced way helped me focus a lot, rather than the usual slow talking that makes students bored to death.

Professor Lupin was different. He'd sometimes tell jokes, explain using simplistic terms to let us understand more.

Using gestures animatedly, he looked like he was having fun with a smile always on his face.

Looking around, I could tell the other students were getting immersed and enjoyed the lesson.

He may be the best DADA Professor,

Viri had stopped writing on her notebook and passed me a slip of paper.

Eddy has my purple pouch..

I clamped my hand over my mouth.

The purple pouch..?

Yeah, the one with my tampons.

Seeing Viri pinch her nose Bridge, she seems so stressed over this, I couldn't help but giggle.

But Bulstrode, being a little bitch that she is, tattletaled.

"Professor! Viridian and Elladora are passing notes to each other!"
Her whiny voice echoed, overlapping the man in front.

He put his hand out his pocket and asked for the note,

After that staring contest, his smirk grew a tad when I gave him the note.

Reading it silently, he put it in his pocket,
"Viridian, please stay after class."

My heart was beating so loud, I didn't hear him ask a question.

"Yes, Ms. Bryce?"

My heart fell out of my arse.

What luck I have..

Standing up slowly, I gulped.
"...Yes, Professor?"
He pointed at the board,

"Oh, a blood malediction can cause debilitation."
I huffed, sitting back down.

"Thank you, please pay attention next time."
He smiled and continued on,

Embarrassed, I looked at Viri who had the nerve to hold in her laugh.

After that, Professor Lupin would often look over at me.
Sometimes making eye contact.

I'd look away, of course.

"He gave me tampons!"
Viridian flared it around, grinning widely.

"Who did?"
Jean asked, shoveling pudding down her throat.

"Professor Lupin, he caught us passing notes about it."

"Why'd he have tampons?"
Eddy snuck up from behind, taking a piece of my chicken.

"He said to provide students with their needs."
Viri explained as I nodded my head,

"He may be the best Professor."

A chorus of agreements from our table erupted.
