May 2nd 1998

Fred ushered incoherent apologies under his breath as his shoulders made brief contact with another. There was a sense of urgency in his walk as the sound of his shoes echoed against the pieces of the floor that were still in tact.

Many lives were lost yet the dining hall seemed so full of life now that the war was over.

That's not to say that the people weren't upset. Most of them were still in shock.

People began to relax after allowing a moment to celebrate their victory, cleaning up the rubble or finding their loved ones.

Some had to say goodbye.

After ensuring that almost all of his family was alive & well, his next mission was to find her.

His optimism of finding her alive began to dwindle the longer it took, but he still held hope.

He clenched his fists as he had to maneuver around yet another crowd, not realizing that his overwhelming irritabilty was a consequence of all of his worrying.

The smell of burnt rubber stained the air as a after all of the explosions & magical incantations that shot through the dining hall. Well, what was left of it.

"Finch has his work cut out for him." Fred thought aloud to himself.

The only person that could hault his mission being-

"Freddie?"

Fred immediately came to a stop and he launched at his twin brother, George, who up until that point, he also had yet to find.

The brothers never considered themselves affectionate usually, but after the emotionally exhausting day, they both desperately needed it.

Their shared silence in their tight embrace was more than enough to comfort each other after witnessing the death of many friends.

The worst was over.

Fred's vision became impaired as he smacked his hand down onto his brother's back and squeezed his eyes shut tight.

The pair inseperable since birth never spent more than a few hours apart from each other.

The thought that either one of them would have had to endure a lifetime without the other was absurd.

After a near death experience, Fred was grateful to still be standing. He'd never appreciated Georgie's bear hugs more either.

And of course Fred was the one to break the tension in true Weasley fashion. A perfectly timed one-liner: "Seems as though you could use a good shower after this one, Georgie."

Georgie laughed.

He laughed harder than he normally would at someone insulting him.
