"I mean, look at Josh," Harry smirked. "He's like the old married couple incarnate."

"Hey!" Freya shot back, laughing.

"On that note, shall we go?" JJ suggested. Abi was already at the door, more than ready.

"Get in! I scored," Freezy announced, finishing his drink before heading off to the girl he'd been chatting up.

"I'm getting another drink," Abi said, standing up.

"Get me whatever!" Ethan called after her.

"Tap water it is," Abi joked, making her way to the bar.

"A pink gin and..." Abi hesitated before deciding Ethan didn't deserve a proper drink. "Water." At least she was nice enough to get him bottled water instead of tap.

The bartender nodded and started making the drinks. Abi glanced around the bar, which was packed. Another group of guys stood a few feet away, and unfortunately, she made brief eye contact with one of them. The mistake was enough to make him think she was interested.

"Hey," the guy smiled.

"Hi," Abi returned the smile out of politeness.

"I'm Max," he introduced himself.

"Abi," she nodded.

"I'll get these," Max offered, handing cash to the bartender.

"I'll get you the water," the bartender grinned, catching on to Abi's situation. Then, Max gestured toward where she had come from.

"One of those guys your boyfriend?" he asked, beer bottle in hand.

Abi glanced back at the table. They were all laughing, clearly entertained by her situation. She made quick eye contact with Harry, silently pleading for backup.

"He's caving in," Lux chuckled.

"Mate, look at her," Harry sighed, standing up. "Just an awkward person helping another."

"Yeah, she looks terrified," Ethan laughed.

Harry approached, unnoticed by Max. The bartender handed Abi the bottled water, and Harry smirked—she actually got Ethan water. He'd need it.

"Abi, come on," Harry said, grabbing her hand.

Abi was momentarily surprised. She thought she'd have to escape on her own.

"Right, yeah," Abi smirked, hopping off the barstool. "Max, this is actually my boyfriend."

The bartender chuckled—he had seen the look Abi gave Harry earlier and knew it was a lie. Max looked Harry up and down, clearly surprised. Harry didn't look like the type of guy he'd expected Abi to be with, but Max's friends were already sneering behind him, ready to tease him for it.

"Ethan's gonna want that water," Harry said, grabbing the drinks.

"Nice meeting you!" Max called after her.

"Yep, bye," Abi waved, walking back with Harry. As soon as they reached the group, Abi buried her face in his bicep, whispering, "Thank you, thank you."

"Really?" Ethan eyed his bottled water in disbelief.

"I was going to get you another drink," Abi said, dropping into her seat, "but you lot were just laughing at me. And bottled water still costs money."

"Money you didn't even pay," Ethan grinned.

"Still, drink the poor guy's kind gesture," Lux smirked.

"You might want to hold onto Harry's arm a little tighter," JJ snickered. "He's still watching you."

Abi scoffed. "He's not going to come back over. I blew him off."

"That's not how he thought tonight would end," JJ joked, making the group burst into laughter.

"Wanker," Abi mumbled, taking another sip of her drink.

"Hey, did you see Abi struggling?" Freezy nudged her upon his return.

"Oh, were you watching me while making out with someone, you arsehole?" Abi shot back.

"That's poor," Harry agreed.

"What? No! We took a break," Freezy defended. "Hey, you're a bitch for turning it on me."

Lux smirked. "But it didn't get better—Harry made it more awkward."

"I saved her!" Harry protested.

"Yeah, but you two are so awkward, it wasn't believable," Ethan grinned.

"If it were me, it would've looked real," JJ smirked.

"Piss off," Harry rolled his eyes.

Abi laughed. "Then why was it only Harry who came to my rescue?"

The lads stayed quiet.

"Ahh, allow it, fam," JJ finally laughed.

"That's not an answer," Abi grinned. "You wanted me to suffer."
