Blaize never quite knew what he wanted as a child. Growing up, he found himself dabbling in many different things. The Sword and Shield fighting style had always entranced him, so he picked that up during his first year as an Initiate in the Academy.
Not long after, he found he had a particular talent for both Healing and Life magic. Ever the studious type, one could often find him in the Academy library with his face shoved into a book on either magic type. The years passed and he progressed, and found himself curious about the Ikani, the strange race of human-animal hybrids that mostly dwelled underground. To the books he went again until he'd learned everything the library had to offer.

Blaize found his curiosity to be too large for the little town of Valuar to hold, and rather than pursue an Instructor or Journeyman position with the Academy, he began training as a scout and tracker. Books on magic and Ikani turned to books on flora and fauna, maps of the surrounding area, and even the strange phenomena that seemed to occur in and around the Deadlands.

A jack-of-all-trades with many conflicting interests, Blaize has always been a walking juxtaposition of styles. His wide variety of talents have been instrumental in informing the Academy and his friends Calen and Evrian of the state of Elesis.
