Smoke

You cannot grasp me,
You cannot keep me,
Through your fingers
I am seeping.
You cannot let go
Because you never held me,
I was never yours,
I follow the wind freely.
Though I make you sick,
You keep breathing me in,
Your lungs will deteriorate
And soon wear thin.
