dogs

My dog waits at the window
When I walk away,
His eyes follow his cries,
A trick he never learnt, but he's begging me to stay.
The irony of us both having anxiety,
Not even the same species but I could swear he was inside of me.
Mimics my mannerisms. Follows me like a scent.
And when I disappear from his view, he wonders where I went.
He has a fear of abandonment he inherited from his mama.
And in a different sense, I inherited mine from my father.
