STEP ONE: A NAME

~ names aren't really important when it comes to building your character but if you want your characters name to reflect their character traits then you pick a specific name with a specific meaning for them

~ & make your characters name make sense. if your character is japanese it would be best to give them a japanese name.

~ names that are complete unnecessary and long can also draw away readers, i'm speaking for myself with this one because i know personally i'm not trying to read 'bryanesha' over & over again.

STEP TWO: CHARACTERS APPEARANCE

~ this really won't help all authors simply because some authors prefer to address the main character as the reader therefore they use Y/N (which means 'your name'). when authors who use Y/N instead of having a main character they created they tend to use
e/c (eye color) and h/c (hair color) to describe things about Y/N.

~ to describe things as eyes or eye color you can use words like 'orbs', 'beady', 'jellyfish-blue', 'hazelnut', etc.

~ to describe hair you can use the term '[HAIR COLOR] locks'

~ when coming up with a character's appearance it is important to keep their personality in mind also. you don't want to have a 'popular' character that has the appearance of a bum because in the real world that just doesn't make sense and it will confuse your readers.

STEP THREE: CHARACTER'S PERSONALITY

~ one thing i feel like most wattpad authors lack when it comes to a character's personality is character development. the character always seem to remain the same throughout the whole story they never experience any change. & that can make a character very bland.

~ as a author whenever you are creating your characters i suggest having a chart for each character explaining their personality.

something like this

CHARACTERS NAME
what makes this character happy?    [answer here]
why is this character the way they are?     [answer here]
what is this characters background?     [answer here]

and so forth..
