Chapter 1

꧁Intro꧂

"Hey, wait up!" I tried to catch up to her as she sped away. 'What the heck... how is she so fast?!'. I hear y/n giggle quietly as she speeds up. "That's it!" I say and run full speed at her and back hug her to stop her from moving. I start to tickle her, making her burst out into fits of laughter as she yells out a string of 'sorries' and 'Please stops', and I'm sure I heard a few curses in the mix.

I finally let her go, and she pants for breath. She unconsciously put her hand on my chest to calm herself, and I felt heat rising to my cheeks. "Y/N?" she looks up and hums. "What if..." I stop myself. "What is it San?" she questions, looking through her now messy bangs. "W-what if I told you I like you...?"

Silence. I was met with silence. Y/N, my best friend for 7 years, and my crush 5, was silent at my question. "Why?" she questions my question. "Why? What do you mean?" I say confused. "Why are you asking me?" she rephrases her question. 'Because I want to know what you reaction would be if I ever really told you'

"Just curious what you would say, haha" I smile. She smiles back. "I wouldn't believe you, you're like my brother!" she says, giggling.

"Y-you wouldn't believe me?" I choke out, slightly taken back. "Mhm," she nods, with a smile, "besides, you're not brave enough to confess anyways."

"Did you just say that I don't have the balls to confess?" I say slightly irritated. "Fine then, Y/N, I like you." There was a series of 'oohs' and 'I knew they would end up together' that could be heard through the halls.

I already knew that we were the schools 'model couple' even if we, more like Y/N, had made it clear that we weren't together, but the fact made it both easier and harder to confess. I was happy that everyone, except the people that liked me and Y/N, would support us and thought that we looked good together. But it made it harder, because there was a chance that Y/N would reject me.

"I'm really sorry San, but I don't see you like that..." her voice got smaller and smaller towards the end. "It's ok. I can wait. I'll make you see me that way." I smile, trying to hide the pangs of pain in my heart, as the halls go wild.

"What does everyone think they are doing right now?! Class started 5 minutes ago!" We hear the familiar sharp voice from none other than Hwang Hyunjin, the strict hall monitor. However, surprisingly, even he had a small smile playing on his lips, while looking directly at Y/N and I.

Everyone scurries off, including Y/N, leaving me and Hyunjin standing there. "That includes you, you lovesick idiot." I chuckle and nod, as we both begin to walk to our respective classes.

Halfway through the class, a small paper flies past my ear and lands on my notebook. I looked over my shoulder and saw my other best friend, Mingi, looking at me expectantly. I roll my eyes and push the balled up note to the side.

Suddenly an awkward cough is heard through the class and I look over to Mingi. He motions me to open the note and sees Ms. Lee glaring at him. He shoots her a guilty smile and I quietly snicker as she continues her lecture.

I carefully opened the note and it read: 'How did it go?? Did she say yes?? Or did you chicken out??' I grunt, why was everyone questioning my manliness today?? I recrumpled the paper and shoved it into my pocket, not caring to respond.

I feel my phone buzz in my pocket:
