"Hayden" Lan called for his elder brother, entering the local pharmacy. Hayden was busy collecting chocolate from the counter and arranging his quarter dollar coins. Lan marched towards him and held his hand out.

"We can't afford to lose the last train and 12:00 Hayden," he reasoned.

"Patience. I'm getting snacks," Hayden replied.

"But..It's scary out here at night. Let's make the 6:00 stop?" Lan suggested.

Hayden, out of patience, slapped the coins at the cash register and collected his chocolate bars. He passed one to Lan and said,

"It won't be worth it. This is the first time we're allowed to take the train. Let's explore around here for how much time we get."

Lan finally gave up convincing his brother to go home. They walked down Fall street where Hayden greeted his schoolmates, Ryley and Maria May.

"Ooooh Hayden. Why are you still here? Aren't you getting picked up?" Maria asked.

"OfCOURSE, not! We are taking the train!" Hayden exclaimed.

"The train?" Ryley and Maria asked in horror.

"Yes?" Lan questioned.

"Leave, now! Catch the earliest train towards home and we'll meet you tomorrow," Ryley said.

"What do you mean, man? This is so unfair! At Least I'm trying to explore the most I can before going home," Hayden said in disbelief.

"You haven't heard?" Maria eyed him with her stern expression, "About Denise May?"

"Your sister?" he questioned.

"The reason why she transferred. When I was in 4th grade, Denise was so excited to take the train for the first time. She was in highschool," she started.

"That's pretty nice," Hayden answered, eyeing the dark, empty road. The cold was striking in late November and it was extreme. Lan shivered and Ryley continued the story.

"Denise did exactly what you did. Buy snacks, hang out with her friends, chill near the woods and plan to go home late. Though she didn't arrive home even after 12:00 at midnight."

"Why?" Lan asked, his eyes widening. He took a quick glance at his brother's expression.

"The next day, when Mari's parents went to the school, there stood Denise may by the principal's office. She explained that she was lost, but then...she said the truth."

"Come on! Why the suspense? Just tell us!" Hayden pleaded.

"She apparently was able to catch the last train. Though, a woman came by her with a sad expression. The woman told her that a teenager travelling that late at night was dangerous.
