Fixing the linen cloth on the long table one last time just to make sure that there's no wrinkles on it before the trays of food will arrive.

Looking at the surroundings, I smiled with the last final touch of my crew on their assigned task. Crossing my hands and thinking deeply, a pair of hands tap my shoulders,sending reassurance.

"Always so splendid, Lhexy."

I spun slowly and looked at my best friend,Jadey. I pretended to be mad at the moment and she looked at my eyes, and stepped back.

"Oh,come on!" Her hands flew on the air dramatically. I,on the other hand, am keeping myself from giving her a smile. Then she continued...

"Alright,alright! I'll clean the house, do the laundry for a week, and even throw the trashes out. Just please...do not make me cook!"

Finally, I snorted and laughed.

"I won't let you hold the pot."

Then she smiled and hugged me so tight.

"You know it's only you who could help me in this kind of a rush thingy thing. That's why, you need to go back! We need you! So badly. No one can handle such hard project like this in last minute."

And there she goes again, persuing me to go back at work.

"You know I can't. Crixelle needs me. She is growing up. She doesn't have a father and I don't like her to feel that I am not there for her." I defended.

"That's why, you needed this work more than anyone." The. She spun me around by the shoulder and let me look at what I made. By now, the crew is looking deeply at me. Their eyes are begging.

"Oh! come on." I exclaimed shaking my head. "Those begging eyes won't let me change my mind. I trained all of you and you can do it without me. I can go and help you when it is needed but you, all of you. I believe in you guys."

Some 'aww' can be heard and I looked at Jadey again.

"Alright. The food will be here and I will leave that to you cause..." as I take my bag,I continued. "Crixelle will be out from the school in 30mins and I don't like to be caught up in the traffic. I already called Kay and she knows what to do."
I kissed her cheeks and waved at the crew with a flying kiss and took off the venue.

I admit, leaving the job I like is so hard. But, my daughter needs me and I would give up everything for her.

After some minutes, I reached the parking lot and shuffled at my keys.

Then, my phone rang. I reached my pocket and looked at the registered name as I opened the door of my car.

It's my aunt's call.

"Yes..I am on my way..thank you."

She was just confirming if I could get my daughter from her school. I asked her hours ago to come get my daughter in case I got stocked here.

Starting my car, I put my seatbelt on and revved through the drive way to the school.

This is how my life starts as I finally resigned from my job.
Planning to open my own restaurant next to my house so I can also tend to my daughter while doing my small business.

All is ready now and my plan is going so well. It's hard being a single mom. My family keeps bugging me to find someone who I could spend the rest of my life and help me with my daughter.

But life now isn't that easy. You just can't find someone who will accept you as a single mom. That's just like 1% chance out of 100 if you get lucky. But that kind luck isn't easy to find.

I am not saying that I wanted to stay single but if that's my destiny, no matter how sad it is, I'll accept that.

Shaking my head of that thought, I played the radio and blasted the music as I caught on the stop,while people passed by the pedestrian lane. Tapping my fingers on the steering wheel, I sang through the song and move my head with the beat. Playing It's My Life by Bon Jovi.

I laughed at my thought as how the song matches my life right now. So I sang with it while waiting for the green light to turn on.

My daughter needs me and as long as she needs me, I need to keep moving.

I continued singing and step on my gas as I saw the green light.

"It's...my... life!" Every word tap on my steering wheel and turned right going to my destination.
