Chapter 1

30 Seconds Left!

The announcement blared through the speakers as I struggled to ink enough turf to even stand a fighting chance in this battle. I was going to try my best, even if there was no chance at victory.
It didn't help that I was the only member of my team...
They promised to be here, then abandoned me without a word!
Promises, promises...
They always promise to stay, then betray me as soon as I turn my back.
The battle ended and I was easily declared the loser, the battle didn't count because I was alone, but I didn't care.
I was too tired to notice my mind wandering to the evils within. It didn't take long for the intrusive thoughts to envelop my mind in a blood-red mist, I was too tired and annoyed to stop it from taking over. 

Only one thought rang through the mist: I wasn't going to be betrayed again...
