As I slowly close my eyes, all my despair fades away. Here I can imagine a world for myself far from the tragedies I have been through. Here, I open my eyes to see a field of bright purple lavender stretched further than my eyes can see and the delicate clouds lingering in the sky just in front of the beaming sun. I hear nothing but the silent wisps of wind blowing by.

It's quiet here...

The fresh smell of flowers mixed with the sense of nostalgia of when I was free to do as I pleased. It's like a dream come true, except long overdue. When all my worries were non-existent. When I would wake up and run around care free, not fearing the thought of death. But not anymore.. Now I must face the truth of my situation. It's time to endure the pain I am feeling....

Sigh...

Open your eyes... Reveal the truth... Stop lying to yourself...

My eyes flicker open, a beam of sun shining down blinding me through the black clouds of smoke above. The smell of blood and lost hope fills my lungs as I take a deep breath and come back to reality. It's dreadful here, I can't take it anymore. I'm stepping into my grave once more, why couldn't I have avoided this for longer? How many times am I going to be put through this? This is probably my last. I will finally face death and show everyone the purpose of my life, to be a role model to those who need one. To protect my country at all means necessary... I hear the gunshots in the far distance...

They are coming for me next...

This is the end of my journey, this is where I say goodbye. Now all that's left to do is close my eyes and go back to where I once was, the field of lavender and touch of the warm sun...

Just say goodbye...

"Sora... Sora wake up..."

I open my eyes, wet with tears to see a tall scrawny figure standing in front of me. I lift my head off the desk I was resting on, rubbing my eyes to get rid of the tears that occupied them. My head is aching, but I ignore the pain as a thought races through my head... Huh, just a dream... How strange...
