There once was a tree
Who lived in a forest
With all the other trees
And all these other trees
Were very tall
And were very proud of it
And in this forest
There was a rock
That is shorter than all the trees
Except for this tree
Whose name is William
And who was very short
And William was ridiculed
Because he just couldn't make it
Past that one huge rock
And all the animals
Who lived in the forest
Didn't go around William
And William was very sad
Because he was very short
And it wasn't his fault
And William tried to do everything
To grow even an inch taller
But it just wasn't working
And everyone shunned him
Because William is shorter than the rock
And he was lonely down there
And he started thinking
That he would never amount to anything
Because he just didn't go to where he was supposed to
Poor William
He had no idea
That he did not have to reach the rock
And then came winter
And William almost died
Because he convinced himself that he should
But luckily he made it through
But for nothing, it seemed
For it seemed he was still shunned
And then came spring
Where William had beautiful flowers
That were the prettiest in the whole forest
And all the animals came
Around these lovely flowers
Apparently forgetting about William's height
And William was very confused
Because he had produced these flowers
Even though he never reached the rock
