[ Little White Lie ]

One night of the nights my father went out, he captured three vampires.

I heard as they screamed and begged, and like so many times before i sat on my bed and waited for it to stop.

Finally there was no more screams until my dad's screamed for one who escaped, which surprised me that had never happened before.

"GET HIM!" my father screamed.

Next thing I knew the vampire ran through my open door and into my room, and looked at me wide eyed.

His hair smooth across his face and lip piercings on both sides of his bottom lip.

He was about seventeen and was really tall.

and  Instead of his eyes being blood red they were a soft blue, staring at me in fear, fear that my father will find him.

"Please, help me." He said shaking, strange he is scared uaually  vampires only know one feeling, hunger.

my eyes narrowed, "Why should i help you?" I asked, suspisios.

why was he, a vampire, asking for help from me, a human? i though.

"I'm not like the others, I do not wish to harm anyone." He told me, pleading with his strangly colored eyes.

I looked in his eyes, the pain and fear looking back and I knew he was not lieing to me.

I ran over and opened my closet motioning for him to go in, he looked at me then the closet, then he ran over and climbed in.

I ran over to my door and opened it and ran into the hallway where my father was.

"Did you see him?" He asked, worried for my safety.

i looked at him "Yea, he escaped out the window and went towards Main Street." I lied, knowing no idea why i did it.

"Okay." My father said grabbing his gun and heading down the stairs.

I followed him to the front door and he turned around and looked at me.

"Lock it." He said before he left.

I locked the door and ran up to my room.

I opened it to see the vampire standing in the middle of the room watching my dad go down to main street on foot.

he looked at me "Thank you." He said, still looking a little scared but more clam now that my fater was gone.

"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes.

"Why though?" He asked looking confused.

"Because I could tell you weren't lying." I told him, and that i too had felt that fear once, too.

"But I still don't like your kind." I continued.

"I understand, I'll get going, then." He told me, looking unconfortable.

"I wouldn't do that." I said lamely.

"Why not?" He asked confused.

"Because he will find you." I said, motioning out the window and to where my father had left.

he looked out the window then at me, I looked at his blue eyes and saw fear, fear of what might happen if he goes out there.

he swallowed "Why is he so crazy?" He looking like a lost child.

"Because a vampire killed my mother a year ago and another tried to kill me not long after." I told him, unemotionly.

"So he's killing us for revenge?" He asked in horror.

"He thinks you all are soulless creatures damned to an eternity of darkness in hell." I said, quoting him.

"Well I will say most of us our soulless, but only those are who lost their humanity. He is right on the damned to hell part though." He said with a weak smile.

"Do you have your humanity?" I asked my eyebrow raised.

"If I didn't I would have killed you by now." He said with weak smile.

"Oh, that's true." I said as I slowly moved closer to him.

I walked up to where the vampire who stood so still it almost like he was a statue.

I touched the side of his face.

It was cold like ice.

"How are you not afraid?" He asked eyebrows scrunched head tilted to one side, confused.

"How are you not?" I said small smile on my face.

"Because you are human, and I am vampire. You were made from love, I was made from hate." He said as his cool hand touched the side of my face.

"You're not made from hate." I argued in a soft tone.

"How do you know?" He asked as he took his hand away and moved back, looking cautious like i might explode any second.

"Because I just do." I said, and i knew that it was true even if he thought different.
