Winter is a season that could kill someone because of the cold weather and the short amount of food and water. But for someone, winter is the season that bring life to him.

A male stand in the garden of the demon slayer corps and head up, glazing at the sky. The snowflakes flutters down from the sky. Its just like the sky has kept their tears so long that it froze. Thats what a 19 year old Urokodaki thought.

"Urokodaki-kun!" a 18 year old girl with two katana on her sides and a light blue-purple cape run towards him.

"Oi, Y/N. Dont be too loud, you might wake up the animals from hibernation.." he said without moving from his gaze to the sky with the fluttering snow.

That's Y/N, a female demon slayer that has been fighting demons for 5 years with her Winter breathing art and for now is the only female Hashira for 2 years. The thing that was known from her background is that she learned and raised in the Snow Goddess temple. Her lastname is unknown, her parents is unknown, the exact locatiom of the temple is unknown, the elder Miko that 'raised' her is unknown. She hides so many secrets under her cheerful and care-free attitude. She maybe a winter art user, but she's just like the spring. She give out her best to slain demons, and also give her best to care for everyone even for strangers, making trust-issue sounds like a myth.

She gets a mission alongside him so many times in the past 2 years, she feel free to be so close to him or maybe diss him from time to time. Although sometimes they get solo missions, after that they would meet again in the HQ.

"Why are you here?" Y/N asked.

"I just finished my mission from Osaka. Why are you here?" Urokodaki replied.

"I just got back from Hokkaido, and i brought somethings for Oyakata-sama and for the others," she said cheerfully but only got replied with a simple "hn," from Urokodaki.

She gaze up at the cloudy sky with a smile. "Ne, Urokodaki-kun.. Do you like the winter?" Y/N asked.

"No.. I hate it," he replied

"Hm? How come?" Y/N asked again.

"It freezes water," he said seriously, but it only cracked Y/N up to a laugh. "Hahahaha, Is that the only reason? Come on, im not a kid you know from yesterday, why do you hate winter?" Y/N nudged his arms with her elbow.

"During winter.. I always have a thought that, the winter itself is the demons, and humans are water.. Humans are so weak, we lose to the demons-"

TAKKK...

A hard flick was sent by Y/N to Urokodaki's temples. Urokodaki stared at her with slight shock on his face and his hand at the spot she flicked him.

"We DIDNT and will NOT lose to the demons," Y/N pouted. "But, i-"

"Well then, how about me?" She cut him off again as she stand in front of him with her hands open and determination is in her eyes. "If youre water and im winter, would you hate me if i froze you or would you struggle to dont get frozen?"

"What kind of question is-"

"Too slow!" Y/N said cutting him off again. "What if im a demon and you know that anytime soon im gonna kill you. Would you kill me first or let me devour you slowly?" she asked again.

"..i"

"Too slow!" she cut him off again. "What if the winter give a chance for the water to go away and the last one in the surface is gonna froze. What will you do, as the water?" she asked again.

"...im gonna.."

"Too slow. You need to take quick decisions in those times. Thats what human should do but the thing is, human sometimes uses their heart instead of logic. And thats why demon slayer should be there as the warmth to protect them," Y/N said with a soft smile.

"Look,"She pointed at the frozen pond. "underneath that ice, there is still water, in fact the Koi is still alive in there. Winter doesnt end everything, but it will if the livings submit to the cold," she said holding Urokodaki's hand with both of her hands.

"Humans need to be fast, caring, and determined to stay alive.. And ofcourse, believe that there will be someone that will save us," she said, giving a kitsune mask to his hand.

"hm, whats this for?" Urokodaki asked.

"Its a warding mask. The elder Miko made it for Oyakata-sama and also the other Hashiras.. But i made this one special for you, with my prayers and spell for any harm to get lost from your way," she said with a warm smile.

"So.. You believe and lucky charm?" Urokodaki teased.

"Well, i was raised in a Shrine, no one can help it!"

"..Youre old-fashioned.."

"Hmpf, fine! If you dont like it, just give it back!"

"I never said that"

He tried it on and smiled underneath it. Maybe.. Not everything about the winter is bad.. Although what she did earlier doesnt really add up to his sentences before.
