My heart started beating fast. I thought I was going to be more calm about it but the moment I stepped into the GNTM studio, everything came crashing at me. I realised where I was and how hard this was going to be but I was determined, I had to be because this was a big chance. Usually I'm really awkward with meeting new people but this time I felt it was easier, we were all here for the same reason, a common goal. A group of people stuck out and I approached them (I didn't want ti be by myself), they were mostly boys but they didn't seem intimidating, in fact they seemed so friendly and perhaps, even in touch with their feminine side which made them even more approachable for me. I joined them, trying to push away any negative feelings I had, I really wasn't the best at making new friends. They accepted me and introduced themselves, I tried keeping up with names but It's not really my strong suit. In the corner of my eye I could see a few familiar faces I have seen during my short career as a model, people like Heracles, Simos and Andreas, which I have encountered before and they waved at me, seeming to recognise me as well.
After hours of wondering, talking and preparing emotionally for my interview, it was finally time to go in. As much as I was nervous I was also excited and the judges could see it too. I did better than expected and I passed, with only Bratis giving me a no. I got out and Tsentolini immediately gave me a hug, congratulating me. I looked around once I announced that I passed and my eye first caught Andreas, giving me a cute, eye-smile making me smile back at him in return. I first worked with Andreas a few months ago, we were both recruited for an Off-White photoshoot, we were both the same age and although I have seen a lot of attractive guys (It is my job after-all, to work with models) he stuck out. He was really nice, very much a gentleman and he was really good at his work. I wouldn't be surprised if he won GNTM. I avert my eyes from him, pushing away any confusing feeling I felt while looking at him and my eyes fell on Simos. Contrary to Andreas, I haven't yet worked professionally with Simos but we're both from Cyprus and I met him while on a vacation trip to Ayia Napa where he owned a hotel. I vividly remember me and my friend Alex, walking down to reception to complain about the lack of soap in our rooms when I first saw him. He had long, golden hair and a considerably muscular build. He caught me off guard. He was the one assisting us and he was indeed very nice and handsome, no surprise he was here as a model- it would suit him a lot. Simos looked at me, smiled and gave me a thumbs up while I nodded back at him. I walked back with Tsentolini to the other guys, now including 2 girls, Lia and Ksenia and all of them congratulated me.
I've been through a lot, all of us have but I could finally safely say that I was officially in the GNTM house. I was qualified enough, me and 19 other people to go through the interviews and the first challenges and I couldn't be more proud of myself. The only people I actually could see me being friends with were a few, and that included Tsentolini, Ksenia, Lia and Andreas which we, (yes, including me) have already formed a friend group although I was also in friendly terms with Eirini, Emanuel (This guy was too nice and talkative) and of course Simos.
Settling in to the GNTM house was kind of a task, since I wasn't the nicest person to live with, I came with my quaintness, as did everyone. I ended up sharing a room with Ksenia, Lia, Eirini, Marinela and Irida and the latest two couldn't be considered my favourite people- the opposite actually. I could tell those two, Marinela and Irida, were kind of forcing themselves to be nice which ended up as coming off as maybe, too nice and as much as I would like to say I cared, I really couldn't. I was in the GNTM house for a few reasons and forming friendships with people like them wasn't one of them. I was sitting in the kitchen with Tsentolini (and Heracles- but we didn't talk a lot, we only shared a few glances as to acknowledge each other) when I heard Rasel's (quite frankly, annoying) voice informing us that we had a message from the judges. I sat on the sofa when Simos sat to the left of me, maybe a little too close (which made me nervous, but I won't admit that) and after a few seconds when Andreas walked in the room and saw me sitting next to Simos, he occupied the seat to the right of me before anyone else could. I felt my heart racing. I was sitting between the two, possibly most handsome men in the house, and the only thing I could hear was my own heartbeat; Kayia's voice was playing in the background explaining the today's chllenge. I payed no attention to that, I physically couldn't concentrate on any of her words. Simos hands reached mine, he looked at me and asked "Are you okay?" I looked at his hand holding mine but fortunately, his words seemed to wake me from my trance. I looked around and noticed most people starting to leave the room and I realised I completely missed the past 10 minutes worth of events. I stared back at him "Yeah sorry, just a little headache thats all" I said and laughed (awkwardly). Andreas, who seemed to have heard the interaction immediately responded "Did you take any medicine?". His voice, as did everything else about him, made me freeze. "Ahh no, not yet. I should Probably ask someone for some" I smiled at him. Simos got out of the sofa and left quietly, too quietly. But I couldn't really focus on that with Andreas looking at me concerned. "Okay do that and let me know if it doesn't go away" he said while getting up. I physically melted, why was he so cute for, only god knows. I got out of my trance and I noticed Tsentolini looking at me, silently smirking as to let me know that he knew what I was feeling, he knew my "secret.
After having our makeup done we took the bus to the location for today's challenge which turned out to be a nude photoshoot, which scared me but I felt confident- not because of my perfect lean body, quite the opposite. Me and Ksenia were considered the "plus sized models" of this year's GNTM which in my opinion, neither of us were actually plus sized. We were both healthy looking girls, with a little bit of extra thigh and stomach, but we were both beautiful in our own way. All 20 of us were standing in front of 2 of the judges and our coach, Karavas. After I got my reference photo, which most people agreed that It was a really pretty pose, I felt everything go by in a haze. I was the second to go in for the photoshoot but I didn't recall what exactly I was doing, I kind of blacked out the moment my name was called. I started with my first, dressed, poses which got a lot of praise and then I removed my robe behind the divider and I sat on the cube, immediately copying my reference photo and making sure I covered up all of my private parts. The moment they removed the divider I could hear a lot of things in the background and I payed no attention, I put on the appropriate face and the photographer began her job. As soon as I was done and I put my robe back on, my eyes immediately diverted to Andreas only to find out he was already staring at me. Every time I looked at him I felt the need to remind myself the reason I was there and to push any feelings I had aside.
Simos, noticed the small interaction between me and Andreas and tensed; he also seemed to forget the reason he was there, that happened every time he looked a Y/N, she was way too distracting for him.
When it was Andreas turn, all I could do was stare. He had kind of a breathtaking effect on me, The way his attitude changed once he was in front of the camera amazed me. He could go from a cute puppy to a high tier model in seconds and while I was a little jealous, I was also proud to see how much he had progressed with his modelling skills. While I was staring at Andreas, I could feel a pair of eyes on me so I had to (sadly) remove my eyes from Andreas and look up, only to see that Simos was the one staring at me. I gave him a questioning glare but he just shoved it off and looked away. That was weird. During his turn, when he exposed his muscular body I could feel my breath hinging. No, I couldn't do that, I thought, I couldn't feel that away and I didn't want to. Contrary to Andreas I saw Simos as very good friend, especially considering the fact that we were both from Cyprus and we hang out before. Therefore, i looked away, he did good with this challenge, i could tell by the judges' shouting and I was happy about that. I don't remember anything particularly exciting happening after that (maybe Ksenia's photoshoot; she was an actual goddess) and I was happy this long day had come to an end. When going back to the house I decided I should probably shower and go for a swim. It has always calmed me and at this moment I felt like I needed it. I swam for a god 2 hours, Edward joining me halfway. It was awkward at first but he was nice, contrary to the rest of his friend group. We talked for a while after our swimming lesson, mainly about previous modelling jobs and struggles, which got a little emotional as much as I hated to admit it and then we parted ways. I could definitely hang out with him again. I took another, very brief shower, ate a banana and headed straight to bed. The girls in my room though seem to have other plans for me as they gathered around my bed (along with the same cameraman that filmed me and Edward talking) and started talking about today's challenge and who they thought did good or would possibly get eliminated. After about an hour of discussing, I started drifting off to sleep, without even realising.
