Intro

Hi all!! I'm back with my next long fic!!
This is going to be an 'intro' where I explain some stuff then the next post will be the first chapter (or more accurately a prologue) so without further ado let's get started so you can get on with reading the fic.

WARNING: THERE WILL BE MENTIONS OF DEATH, SUICIDE, BLOOD, VIOLENCE AND OTHER POTENTIALLY UNPLEASANT THINGS - IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THAT THEN I SUGGEST YOU DON'T READ THIS FIC
To clarify more: I doubt much of it will be particularly graphic unless I believe it's necessary for the scene, but I know some people aren't comfortable with even implications of those things so I thought I'd be safe and give you all a heads up.

Now that I've said that, welcome to my next long fic!! It's a fic based on a theory I actually came up with a few years ago back when I was quite active on Tumblr and the BSD community so I'm really excited to be able to expand it into a full-blown story for you all. Partial credit for the idea goes to @/joyful-king (Tumblr) who I had a discussion with about my idea and helped develop it into something a little more than just an idea. Also, when coming back to this idea and starting to plan, I had the choice of making this a Soukoku ship fic or not. I know my Soukoku shipper fans probably wish I wrote less platonic Soukoku and more romantic Soukoku, and this fic provides an absolutely spectacular opportunity to give you all a shedload of angst, however, I've decided to keep this a ship-free fic.

I feel like this fic, if I write it well, has the potential to be an amazing canon-esque fic. Something that wouldn't feel too out of place in the actual manga or as a light novel. Obviously I don't expect to write with the same skill as Kafka Asagiri himself, but I can dream and aspire haha.

The point is, I really want to try my best to make this as 'canon' as possible and that involves writing the characters as they are in the manga, not as they are generally portrayed by fans. I hope, however, that both shippers and non-shippers can enjoy this fic in the same way that all fans of Bungou Stray Dogs enjoy the manga.
