Turn off the visibility of the layer so the picture looks normal again and create a new empty layer.

Go to the layers, select the skin layer and make the opacity 50%.

Select the brush and make sure your on the hard dip pen. Then go to the hand symbol at the top and turn on force fade, and turn the length of start and length of end up to 100%.
