[1] THE BEGINNING

Lia's POV

"Lia hurry up you got school."

"Almost ready mom just give me a sec."

Okay so sorry about that was just my mom being my mom you know how it goes. Anywho let's get on with the introductions my name is Lia Pedigreen and I am an ordinary girl, well as far as being a 17 year old gang leader being normal is. Let me just clear up the confusion here, yes you read right I am a gang leader but no not one that goes showing off her power and using it to make people fear her. I am the gang leader who pretends to be a nerd at school and keep my identity hidden and far away for anyone to know.

My father died two years ago and well as his only living heir I had to take over. Yes granted my mom could have but she wasn't isn't all of this.

Yes she was married to a gang leader but she never liked the idea of 'violence and stupid guns,' her words not mine.

It was hard having people believe in me being the new leader as I am what they call a girl or weakling. I'm not saying that they didn't love me as family they did but they also believed that girls deserve to be on the sidelines and not at the front and that made me angry.

After all I was that little girl that could beat their asses since I was 11 and won almost every fight I had against them regardless of the weapon choice but I was weakling yeah right.

Okay sorry about that outburst now where were we ahh yes gang leader. I am what you call a nerd at school and a fighter in the streets. I am completely different around people outside of the gang I am timid and really shy of course it's all an act but it works and no one would ever know about the part of me that I try so desperately to hide.

I know you're asking if I worked so hard in order to make myself gain the enough respect to be the boss why hide... let me explain just because my gang accepted me doesn't mean other gangs will; they will see my gang as weak for having a female leader and so I hide my identity and have someone of the male gender play the leader in the outside world when really he's just my right hand man or second in command.

Okay back to the story. Today is the worst day of the week you guessed it Monday and also the day I have to go to the hell for all children 'school.'

After getting ready I place my hair in a ponytail and head downstairs to have breakfast with my mom.

"Good morning," I said sitting down around the table and looked at my already served breakfast consisting of bacon and eggs.

"Morning honey," my mom said sitting down to have breakfast with me.

"Got everything for school already?" she asked like she does every morning and gave my usual answer nodding with mouth full of food while humming.

"Oh I have great news by the way!" ahe exclaimed way too enthusiastic about this so called good news it can't be that great I mean did they find Tupac's killer or something.

None the less I nodded letting her I know that I was listening to what she was saying.

"Okay so you're Aunt Marie called this morning she's in town for some event her friend is hosting and his coming to spend a week with us." she finished with a big smile only I wasn't smiling oh no ladies and gentlemen I was teaching all the food in my mouth to fly as I spat it across the table while my mom used her hand as a shield.

"Lia!" she yelled.

I used the back of my hand and wiped my mouth and cleared my throat. "I'm sorry but who's coming again?" I asked hoping I didn't hear correctly. That woman is not someone you want around ever especially not for a week.
