For the next few months, they had to continue wearing the armbands until suddenly one day when the boys came home, their parents told them that they couldn't stay here anymore and that they were moving to another part of Cracow. When they reached there, the soldiers build a wall and the family had to stay there, sharing the room with another family of seven. Bruno hated it as the parents of the other family were always fighting and the other kids were elder than him so they used to beat him.
One day Bruno finally asked:
"Mama, papa why have we come here, I don't like it here"
The parents looked at each other and decided to tell their 9 years old what was going on.
They told him everything about them being Jews and what the Germans were doing. He understood all of this and decided to stay strong, for his family.
