I woke up and checked my clock, it was 7:00 a.m, I went to get dressed and brush my teeth. I Walked over to Jacksons bed and shook him awake. "Jackson! Jackson wake up or you will be late to school!" I said. "Ugh go away Max." He said, annoyed putting his pillow over his head. I went to go walk downstairs, since all I had to do was tell him to wake up. " Good Morning Mom, good morning Kimmy!"I said cheerfully as I descended into the kitchen. "Here is your lunch Max." Mom Said handing me my bag, I loved mom's lunches but it was the same everyday. I wish she'd let me buy my lunch. "Mom, why can't I buy my lunch at school like the other kids."I asked. "Max, you know why. It's more healthy, plus all that cafeteria food is probably stale or rotten." She wrinkled her nose. I nodded knowingly as I walked into the front doorway. "Cmon Jackson! were gonna be late!" Ramona hurried down the stairs Jackson following behind her. "Ramona, your lunch money is in your bag." Kimmy told her daughter as Jackson grabbed his bag as well. "Have a good day at school! Mommy needs to go to work." Dj places a kiss on Max's head and turned to Jackson who quickly hurried out the door calling out a goodbye.

It was the last period before lunch and the bell rang. I got up and packed up my things, and grabbed my sacked lunch. I walked into the hallway and standing there was the oh so great taylor. 'Great just what I need.' I thought to myself annoyed. "Hey fuller, are you really that poor that you need a lunch from home?" He said. You know nobody wants you here you should just leave you're just the teachers pet. He said he then walked closer to me and punched me twice in the gut. He just laughed and walked away. I groaned and hugged my tummy gently. I thought middle school would be full of kids ready to learn like me! Of course Taylor wouldn't be but it was nothing like he had imagined. He would always bully me when nobody was looking because he had to keep up his reputation, even though people knew we were "Rivals" he couldn't be seen hurting me or making fun of me like that. He would usually not hurt me that bad but on some days he would also steal my lunch and flush it down the toilet, when this happened I would go the whole day being hungry, one time I even failed a test because I couldn't focus on an empty stomach, I never fail my tests! I was scared because I thought I was turning into Jackson. But deep down i know im nothing like Jackson, yeah i do well in school, but maybe this time it would be better to be like Jackson, he wouldn't get bullied.
Once I got home I was not my cheery self. I was so tired of all the bullying, I didn't think anyone would really notice but standing there in the doorway to my bedroom was Jackson. "Hey bud, you okay?" He said in a surprisingly comforting voice. Should I tell him? I sighed then started to explain my situation. "He bullies you?" He asked kind of upset. I just nodded and waited to see what he said next. "Listen I'm going to talk with him and help you out, I know it may seem like I don't like you or that I think you're annoying, and while sometimes you can be annoying your my little brother and I care about you. " He started. I was surprised by this because what he said was true, I didn't think he liked having me around. "As annoying as you can be sometimes, it's my duty as your big brother to help you no matter what. He ruffled my hair and walked over to his bed. "We should get some sleep, it's getting late." he said. He flipped over the covers and said, "Wanna sleep with me tonight, I can read you a book?"He asked. I smiled and walked over. I hopped into bed and he read my favourite book to me, as old as I get who could pass up a bedtime story? Eventually we fell asleep, now we just wait till morning to solve my bully problem.
I woke to my usual alarm and shook Jackson. "Do I really have to go to school today?" I frown looking at the clock. "Max, you're my little brother im allowed to make fun of you. But nobody else is, im gonna deal with this bully of yours so you can go back to your annoyingly cheerful self. You're lucky I havent told mom." Jackson sighed and looked over at me. He dug under his mattress and pulled out a ten dollar bill. "Use this for lunch, and tonight I'll talk to mom about maybe letting you buy lunch on Fridays." "You're the best big brother ever!" I hug him tight and he yelps. "Yeah, yeah okay! Go get ready." He shook me off and I hurried to get ready for school. For once I wasn't worried of the day to come, I knew my brother would help me.
